I have a really complicated question.... well lets start
I have a vg30det engine and i use a z31 flywheel-clutch-transmission setup. I used the fs5w71c transmission and the clutch is a 240mm. Now i am going to fit an fs5r30a transmission from a 89 z31. This transmission used a 250mm clutch as the z32 does. Now to my question
The z31 flywheel has a 6bolt patern where it mounts to the crank but the vg30det has 8bolts as the z32 does. When i made the swap i send the stock z31 flywheel to a good machine shop and they filled-redrilled the flywheel to the new 8bolt patern. So far so good they have done an excelent job at the machine shop and i dont have any issue. Now that i upgrade the transmission i want to use a 250mm clutch for better grip. i done a search and i found that the z32tt and the 88-89 z31 use the same clutch-pressure plate. So far so good. But the pressure plate wont bolt on to mine flywheel. I have 2 options either get a flywheel for the z31 and do the same fill-redrill to 8 bolt patern(this option totally eleminates the chance to use a lightweight flywheel), or get a z32 flywheel which will bolt right up to the crank but i dont know if it will line up to the starter. Does anyone know that?? The only thing i know is that both flywheels is the same size, same starter teeth patern, same pressure plate bolt paterns and different crank patern (6bolt vs 8bolt). I dont know if there is some kind of offset at the starter teeths beacuse i use starter at the engine as z31 does and not starter at the gearbox as z32 does.
With less words is z32tt and 88-89 z31 flywheels identical except the crank bolt patern????

Don't know the answer to your question but the Z32 TT has a larger diameter flywheel than the NA and different ring gears and clutches.

All I can suggest is to compare the ring gear part numbers between the two flywheels.

This question is bugging me :) Lets see, I think that there was a JDM Z31 that had the VG30DET motor, which would indicate that your gearbox and starter would fit.

You may get more input from a Z31 forum, very few Z32 people would have experience with fitting Z31 gearboxes etc.

Z32 flywheel has a different (12mm bigger) diameter ring gear but the same teeth pitch and the depth of engagement is the same.
You cannot swap the ring gears tho. There is not enough "meat" on the Z32 flywheel to machine down and fit the Z31 ring gear.
You "can" egg out the starter mount bolts and grind out the bellhousing to swing the starter out enough to work. Its a bit dodgey but it has been done and works.

Going to state the obvious here but why not just re-drill your existing modded flywheel to suit the Z32 clutch?
Theres just enough room there to rotate the Z32 clutch and redrill.

Otherwise you could look at the D21 Nissan Navara V6 clutch. Its bigger than the Z32tt clutch and only has 6 retaining bolts (z32 is 9) and would be a simple matter of redrilling the flywheel to suit.

I had a new steel flywheel machined up to suit the Z31 ring gear but carry the Z32 clutch.
The new flywheel is on the left. The other one is the old Navara flywheel with its ring gear removed.

    WOOOOWWW
That's the answer i was looking for. Thank you very much. I also consider the chance to install a 240mm 6puck clutch made for the z31 flywheel that i use... Also i can use an uprated clutch for the z32na it will also line up... both 240mm. But will it be strong enough???
