Hey all my friend with the Z31 californian turbo i was interested in buying has told me his auto box is in need of a rebuild (rough shifts and thumping from gearbox), which he has been quoted $1600, just wondering how easy it would be to get all the gear to do a manual conversion to the car and what the parts would be worth, and the difficulty of carrying out the conversion. Has anybody carried out this conversion? and where would be the best place to source all the parts to do the job? (im in sydney) and would it be worth carrying out the conversion to a 20yr old car with ~220k on it? of should i just get the auto rebuilt? sorry for all the questions
i got quoted $1950 for a full manuel conversion on my 1984 Z31 by nizpro on the gold coast, its probly worth takin it to someone and getting it fully complied n shit, where the hell did $1600 come from? a new gearbox isnt worth that much www.brisbanemotorimports.com should have them for less
