Z Convoy to Zedfest from Townsville

Well I am driving to dubbo from townsville in april, have spoken to a couple members who said they were keen to meet up along the way and cruise down together.

Would like to get a list together and work out meeting points and see what other people's plans are so I can work out when to leave townsville etc.

So whos keen!?

There will be a few of us staying in Goondiwindi on the Thursday night leaving mid morning on Friday to head down to Dubbo.....

 

when do you plan on leaving adam?

 

Depends on when/where I have to meet up with others and when you and leigh want to leave so its still up in the air!

 

I am down in lismore i can meet as you all hit woodburn or ballina

 

nice the missus and I are in Bundy so if you guy's want to swoop through and pick us up in the convoy on the way would be awesome.

We will be arriving at Goondiwindi around 8:30-9:00am Friday. What is your idea of mid morning Ash? It is supposed to be around 6.5 hours from Goondiwindi to Dubbo.

 

Was thinking around 9:30ish... that would get us in around 4

If im not working, I'll leave thursday night then find somewhere to stay in goodiwindi. Any other zedders looking at leaving from brisbane? Should i go through warwick and down that way instead of west and down through toowoomba??

 

We are staying at the Country Roads Motor Inn in Goondiwindi - leaving from Brisbane somewhere between 4-6pm on Thursday night.

Haven't really thought much about which way we will go. The Hotel is on the cunningham highway so will most likely head down that way.

 

I'll be leaving very early from sunny coast on friday morning to hopefully meet up with you guys (nasty girl, Karl, benny etc) in goondiwindi before you leave on fri morn, at a guess so far its going to take around 4+ hours to get there from sunny coast

VERY Unfortunately I won't be going to zedfest

I have been holding off until I was sure but its pretty certain now.

A few factors combined:

1. Money is tight
2. Grandfather is very ill and may not make it through winter, I haven't seen him for a few years now so I would like to again before I lose the chance.
3. Staff at my work is down to 4 people from 12 2 years ago. We have less work than we did then obviously but things are ridiculously busy still!

Originally the plan was to go to Dubbo then drive to visit grandfather (about 6 hour drive I think) but I simply a) am tight on cash to do both and b) would feel bad for my co-workers to take that long off work!

Leigh and Kevin from Townsville are still attending however I believe they are heading down a little earlier to be in Sydney on the Wednesday to go in the drags.

I was going to be sharing my accomodation with Leigh and Kevin so they will still be staying in my room at the hotel

Trying to get an idea of when people are leaving so we can start organising where to meet and when.

2. Magic Mike & Mrz Magic - leaving from Brisbane Thursday arvo
3. Benny_C - to meet Brisbane crew in Toowoomb on Thursday night
4. NVZ32 - leaving Sunshine Coast early Friday morning to meet at Gundy
5. LadyZ - unconfirmed
6. frysie - leaving Brisbane early Friday morning to meet at Gundy (maybe meet NVZ32 somewhere???)
7. 90TTZ - leaving Dalby early Friday morning to meet at Gundy
8. Adamness - coming from Townsville meet at Gundy on Thursday/Friday??
9. ryzan - coming from Mackay meet at Gundy on Thursday/Friday??

Those staying at Goodoowindi on the Thursday night will be staying at the Country Roads motor inn which is right next door to the Maccas/BP servo so maybe we could make this the meet point for Friday morning??

 

maccas for brekky and the fuel stop... sounds like a good meet to me

 

Ditto sounds like a good idea meeting in gundy,

After 4.5 hrs Ill need fuel by then anyway... and maccas brekky
