I think the formal convoy was a great success. And a huge thankyou to everyone that turned out once again. My son rang about half an hour after we droped him and his girlfriend off and he was stoked and wanted me to pass on his thanks to everyone. We had, and I hope I got this right, Lil Baz, Robbo, Zedmd, ACTZX, and 300ZEDEX all rock up. The Zeds were were the talk of the drop-off cars. Interesting the VL Commodore boys also arrived in numbers, I think they started with six cars there also, but 1 broke down before they started another overheated in the line up. But no such problems with the Zeds Here is a sneak peak with some more photos to come. The pre-meet My lucky son and his girlfriend waiting in line before the drop off Some nice after shots down by the lake. It was a fantastic show of Canberra Zed spirit. The only vehicle that probably upstaged us was the couple who got dropped off by the Mobile Highlift Crane. DoubleZX
after I pushed the post button I realised I had listed you down instead of ZXLife. And yes, I think we all had a good time Blow-off Valves.. got to love them
Hi all, Firstly, a shout out to Steve (DoubleZX) for inviting us all to such a fun and relaxing School Formal Convoy. And secondly, an honorary mention to the VL Commodore that preceded us, and then proceeded to overheat and pull over just after the drop-off point...:rofl::rofl: Now... :worthless: So here are a few I took on my iPhone by the edge of Lake Burley Griffin at an awesome spot chosen by Charles (ACTZX) once we were done: Enjoy, we certainly did! Iain..... :zlove:
No that 's Lil Baz's car. And yes it is one VERY good looking car, especially under the bonnet!!!! Mine is the black 2+0 on his passenger side.
Great to hear it went well how did you guys get them onto the pontoon area like that? aren't there big blocks of cement blocking access? Awesome shots and well done!
if the zeds breath in really deep, and fold the side mirrors in, it isnt such a fat car. then can fit into small spaces :zlove:
ACTZX found a gap between a concrete block and a small tree, and once he squeezed through without shaving any bark or leaving paint on the concrete block, we all figured we could, too... Iain..... :zlove:
Thanks heaps for the compliments, guys! Thanks, too, to Zedmd for all his hard work, without which the compliments wouldn't be coming. Iain..... :zlove:
Had a great time. Great to get together again. Like a barbeque without the food and drink. This was practice for my son's year 10 formal at Old Parliament House on 9 Dec. I'll put that up in another thread. Sorry to take so long putting up my pics. Zeds shouldn't share focus with other lower forms of life, so I had to remove the blemish from the pier. The pans were also made from 3 shots. Also, why do they always take the shots from the other end of the line? Finally I have 1 taken from the right end, (had to wait for a Z to go ) Pix are on A drive and can be downloaded. Don't have anything else convenient tonight. A couple more pics Another shot at the meet up point Waiting for the passengers. On the way We arrived just as the crowd was the biggest After the drop, the regroup. And a nice shot of Robbo's car. An update also on the VL Commodore convoy. Apparently one put a rod through his block, one blew an oil hose and one blew his radiator. Not bad a 50% lose to the six Commodore convoy.
