So I have a '00 Spec Fascia on my car. I really don't like the look of the front plate from the US as it is too small for the bracket. So what is the chance of one of you guys getting a custom plate "SPDY Z" then just switching it back to stock after you get them? Of course sending one to me. Then I could just throw on the real AUS plate with no stickers of course and it would fit my bumper. Your costs would be reimbursed of course. How much do your custom plates run? How much do you think it would cost to actually do this. I just have no clue on how much plates and renewals for cars are over there. Thanks for your time.
mate we just buy the plates out right. would cost us $415. www.vplates.com.au - is the website. and technically you own the plate so you dont have to actually run with it on. i brought mine, 'mrzedx' and kept them on my wall for about 6 months before re-registering my plates over the phone. i guess if you get a member to order you a set, then pay postage. around 500 i reckon? i'd do it, but dont have 500 laying around.. kindest regards. rod.
WoW! 500 buxors is a quite a bit for plates. My customs are like $90 every 2 years or something. Thanks for the quick replies and I think I may hold off on this! lol It would be pretty cool though...
ahhh ok. but he would be in the states. doubt it would matter much! so after 6 years the plates pay for themselves if you do the maths. keep the zed and you make money LOL. but in all seriousness yeah its a bit steep, but thats aussie dollar to. so say 450 american posted i would think. dont know! do some research on it, and im sure someone would help you out.

Are there any with Z's in them? Or are they all the same? Sorry I really have no clue about the plates or systems over there!
Yes, they are state letters - VIC = Victoria, NSW = New South Wales, SA = South Australia, WA = Western Australia, QLD = Queensland, NT = Northern Territory, TAS = Tasmania For a custom plate you pay $500 per year in NSW (plus $60 or so to order it) NSW plates at http://www.myplates.com.au/
