What sort of gains are there just by changing to BIG front or side mount......

I personally like the KEEP them guessing thing... so my car has NO stickers (hmm except a www.aus300zx.com one) or markings...

running approx 14psi boost...peaks to nearly 15 when you first hit it..... but drops straight to about 14 and stays there....

I am not after My front mount did better than this side mount or vise versa.....

I am NOT after the best way to go is this cause it gives me 1.654Rwkw more.

I AM AFTER .... generally expect 2-5 RwKw more ... OR there is stuff all difference but turbo's will last longer ...

    that type of info....

and yes I did a bit of a search and that is why I have asked /requested so many inclusions and omissions

    EDIT:
I am looking at HKS or Greddy
The Greddy look WAY bigger..... is that all that counts??

i have Greddy's on my garage floor ready to fit

i am running 15psi boost with stock IC's

Can let you know after i put my Greddy's in!

I have noticed that my car generally runs great for a few boosts with stock IC's then power really trails off after 4500-5000 rpm when the IC's heat up due to not being able to cool down the hot air from the turbos.

Hopefully i'll get more power higher up in the revs and the power will stay! (instead of fading)

Bank on 5-10 rwhp or so, increasing (or rather decreasing the loss)

as you do more and more runs and heatsoak them.
Substantial gains can be had the more power you make.

Heres a nice link discussing a 28rwhp gain with different intercoolers and piping : GT28RS dyno figures

    HKS vs Greddy.... Optical illusion

Looks can be deceiving because the HKS is actually bigger than the Greddy but not by much (about 4% by volume).

If you want BIG you should look at the ARC sidemounts because they are 44% bigger than the HKS and 100% more expensive (if you can get them).

As far as I know the Ashspec sidemounts are NOT readily available.

    UAS do a SMIC upgrade

    Scroll down on THIS PAGE

$1195 so much better price than HKS or Greddy and they always look after forum members.

I think chili uses these intercoolers and is achieveing something like 272kw at the wheels

What would be the optimum size SMICs for stage 2 mods with 12 lb

boost? It feels like the standard ones are not up to the job in the Brissie heat at the moment. Or maybe I'm losing boost somewhere.

smic's work well :) they are fitted

boost keeps coming on strong all the way to 6500, even on a hot Brissy day! before it would fade after 5000 rpm.

must be due to cooler charge and better flow! the stock smic's look very restrictive looking inside the core...

Car now likes to rev all the way to redline, has stopped running over rich at high rpm/full boost (must be because of flow restriction with stock smic's) feels great!
