This post really belongs in WANTED section and I'll move it there if you wish.

Why not repair your old EFI loom by replacing &/or cleaning connectors?

by the time i buy all the connectors then get them solder on which the mechanic said would take about 6hrs x$65 per hr most of the connectors are corroded &the plastic is brittle what do you think,i only took the car there to fix the leaking coolant hose at the back of the block ,about a$1000 later they hit me with the wiring loom connectors are stuffed, i have already got this post in the wanted section.

Ok, I see yr post in WANTED, so I'll treat this as a TECH post .....

The quote is about right for a w/shop but it's a job easily undertaken yourself at a much lower cost than replacing the loom.

    1. Cleaning all connectors as per TECH is time-consuming but costs very little.

    2. You can replace the 10 injector-type connectors for about $80 total & 6 coil-pack connectors for a similar price.

    3. CAS, PTU & TPS & other connectors are easily cleaned.

    Yes, I used a coz L/H harness

All up I think it cost about $500aud and the only hassle to fit it is that some of the plugs/connections must be rotated 180%. I might add that my long persistant hesitation vanished immediately the same day.! ps.Dont forget to remove the harness retainer,a real pita job.
