Hi all, I am wodering if anyone else has found it a pain to have the windows only work with the ignition "on'. Most cars have their electric windows working when the key is in the "access" position, and as such before I start ripping and cutting wires if there is anyone that has done the mod that gets their window to work with the key in the "access" possition? If so I would appreciate some info regarding on how and what you did. Thanks in advance
Good idea, pretty sure it is a legal roadworthy requirement for Australian cars windows' to function for a certain amount of time after the ignition is off. Don't know JDM cars pass over the pits without it??
I wonder if there is constant power to the door lock solenoid ?. If there is maybe you could pinch it from there. Otherwise find the window supply under the dash and put a Jaycar timer kit on it so it supplys when the ignition is turned of for say a minute or what ever you like. I don't like the idea of having power to the switch when you are away from the car as someone might work out a way to push the button with a coat hanger to break in.

Years ago (for a different car) I found an unused fuse position in the fuse box, and ran a wire from there to the fuse for the windows. I used a blown fuse to hold the wire in the window fuse location. I guess its just a matter of finding the window wires and then making a new connection in the fuse box to a "access" ONLY WIRE AND THAT SHOULD WORK. Though the thought of a timer in the wiring setup sounds good, as when the ign is turned off i can still operate the windows for a short period of time. Like LTD's and Statemen's have done.
