As mentioned in a previous post, I had the typical driver's side window rattle when the window is anywhere but fully up or down. While trying to decide whether to buy a new slider and bolt, I decided to investigate how difficult it would be to fit the parts. Much to my surprise I was able to fix the problem without buying any parts and it was quite simple. Just as well, cause I wasn't able to figure out how I would replace the slider and bolt.

    My technique:

    1. lower window at least 150mm
    2. remove 20 cent piece sized plastic cover at top of the outside of the door pillar
    3. very carefully remove the screw just above where the top seatbelt bolt appears inside the pillar (very careful because you don't want to drop it inside the door lining)
    4. remove top seatbelt bolt cover and undo the bolt from inside the car
    5. the internal cover of the pillar can now be removed and unclipped from the two clips at the base
    6. I found that when the slider rattled I could feel the top slider mounting bolt move (its located through a hole on the inside of the pillar below the top seatbelt mount) (mine had a piece of tape covering the hole)
    7. I couldn't figure how to access the other side of this bolt to tighten it so I located a suitable metric nut and spring washer and fitted them to the inside of the slider mounting bolt where it protrudes into the inner cavity
    8. tightened the nut and now the rattle has gone.

    I hope this helps other.
