no idea whats goin on but she just wont go. i completely removed the AIV system thismorning without any problems and followed the forum guide exactly. worked perfectly all day and then i parked out front for literally 2mins and wont start after that. does not sound like there is any combustion what-so-ever

starter motor is turning the crank plenty
pulled hose off fuel filter and petrol is pumping out
removed a sparkplug and its working perfectly.
no vac hoses appear to be disconnected.
had a play with MAF and made sure wires have connection

any ideas on problem? maybe i did something wrong with removing AIV?

There's a small hose going to the driver's side intake hardpipe, did you reconnect it? Because I forgot to do that on my gf's NA and it wouldn't start because of it..

    Do an ECU diagnostic

in tech section. Could be CAS error etc. I always start with the ECU diagnostic. Saves you so much time...

Do this and report back here with results, then we can help you.

PS: When you say you are getting spark, are you using the following recommended steps

    1 pull out a coilpack,
2 put a spark plug into the coilpack
3 reconnect the coilpack wiring plug
4 with a friend cranking the engine over, hold the tip of the spark plug end of the coilpack about 5-10mm from the plenum. Should see a bright spark. PS: Expect a bit of a jolt, those coilpacks pack a punch:)

PS: Be careful how long you try to crank it over as the plugs can easily foul from unburnt fuel. You might fix the original prob (ie: engine sensor electrical terminal corrosion etc), but then find the car still won't spark (as the fouled plugs become the next reason the engine won't start).

Catches many people, this one does.

ok engine just started for no reason at all. didnt change a thing it just remembered it was a car and sprung to life. have tried starting it again since with it at various different running temperatures (yes i gave engine a good flogging) and works everytime. my concern is that one day in future its gonna decide not to work again...

    Sounds like wet plugs

If you are using Iridiums, they will not start when wet :(

yep, after leaving it standing for a while, the fuel will evaporate.
