    BADZX Grumpy old fart

    But now.............

    You own 2 ZX's

& both of them need the front bars replaced anyway
    :D
    ( joking ) ;)

Road trips arent about the road or how long & boring it is.......
its all about the trip itself

Sure it wasnt smooth sailing but as far as a road trip goes.... I'm sure you'll be telling your grandkids about this one time when you bought a white car from the other side of the planet

As you know we did the bash not so long back and ended up with some shyte fuel which caused us endless grief and expence.... the fun part was the drive home to Vic from central Qld with a dying V8.....although it seemed like a HELL TRIP at the time.

What you and Bryan dont know is that #5 cylinder had a broken inlet rocker, #7 has a hole down the side of the piston ( can actually see the rings and the conecting rod), the inlet gasket had let go completely, & the cam chain had stretched so much it was actually grinding away at the engine block and was only poofterthou's from jumping teeth

Yeah it wasn't nice having to stop every 150K's to add 3 lits of oil, change the sparkplugs, change the air cleaner, then have the starter motor fail along with the battery just as we reached Victoria..... but we made it home and it was a trip Stephen & I will remember for a long time.

Thankgod for road trips, sounds like you had a ball and got to know your co-driver better then you could ever have expected, & that's a good road trip......

    So .......

    when's the next one ????

    Kingy

    :D

Here ends ALLL my rants about my Zed which I also bought unseen.

Hope you get her fixed up without too much more hassle.

My car now seems like a complete gem in comparison.

Re transport though, I had the same issue. Even with stock ride height (well mine had sagged on old springs but still), ANY after market front bar will cause MOST transport companies issues.

My bar had to come off and was sent by a couriour company at the cost of $500. The car was only $1500 to ship, making the cost of shipping the bar a bit of a joke. But it was done and the car arrived safe and sound via train to the Perth Depot.

If I'd have been you, I'd have had stiffer words with the transport company.

2nd to that, I'd have had VERY stern words with th old WA owner and encouraged him to take the car back, and then I'd have flown home.
