Stock diameter What is the stock diameter, just want to get an idea of the size increase? Also are these bars suited to NA and TT? And are the stock NA and TT bars the same?
Yes they are suited to both NA and TT. The front Whiteline is same size as stock, solid and 3 way adjustable, The rear Whiteline is 22mm( 1mm larger) and also solid. Below are stock specs Anti-Swaybars Nissan Part #'s Front Rear Diameters 54611-33P20 27.2mm US 2S NA/TT & JAP 4S TT & EURO 4S TT 54611-33P21 28.6mm US 4S NA & JAP 4S NA & AUS 4S NA 56230-33P06 15.9mm US 2S NA 56230-33P20 21.0mm US 4S NA & JAP 4S TT & AUS 4S NA 56230-33P10 25.4mm US 2S TT & EURO 4S TT
Whiteline Front Sway Bar, 27mm solid, Heavy Duty, 3 way blade adjustable $215.00 Whiteline Rear Sway bar, Heavy Duty, solid 22mm $155.00 ---- i'll be in for both of the above.
so I take it The whiteline ones must be of stiffer material and/or the OEM ones are not solid, otherwise there would be no point in replacing it.
The front Whiteline bar is actually thinner than stock, however it is 3-way adjustable which is the main reason I'm buying it. The rear bar is slightly thicker than stock and is also solid, whereas the stock one is hollow. You'll find that a stiffer rear anti-roll bar (relative to the front) will make the car more resistant to understeer.
Err don't think so My Whitelines where thicker than stock... Max, swaybars wear out just like springs. The overall diameter and the material have the biggest effect of performance. The differenace between a hollw swaybar and a soild swaybar is 2/5 of stuff all, nearly all the force in torison of a bar is taken by the outer edge of the bar, the cetre section does practically nothing. Grab a mechanics book and look up angle of twist of shafts I was going to do a write up on it ages ago but never got round to it.
My manual lists the thickness of the front anti-roll bar as being 28.6mm for Australian delivered cars. No stats on JDM cars.
ok ok ,1 of each bar thanks caz Whiteline Front Sway Bar, 27mm solid, Heavy Duty, 3 way blade adjustable $215.00 Whiteline Rear Sway bar, Heavy Duty, solid 22mm $155.00
crispy no need for explanation I'm an engineer remember, it comes back to one of my favorite words "Torque". Just wanted to know why there was a stipulation that the whitelines were solid.
All ordered guys Whiteline have quoted a 2 week delivery ETA. I have ordered 1 extra set for anyone who missed cut off I will PM payment details next week. Caz..
I just fitted my whiteline bars from Caz, The car handles much flatter now. Very nice. Issue is that I changed the srpings to Eibach's and the shockers to AGx's at the same time. I dont know what works better than what but the whole system now is AWESOMe. The steering turn in is 100 times better than before.
