Hey guys/girls - after being a member of this forum for a few months now i can admit to only as of last night finding the Tech section :( lol - not that i ever really looked before - but after finding it and reading some of the articles during my 12 hour shift at work, i have decided id like to try and do a few of the 'easier' projects Such as new HID's (which ill source from e-bay which seems to be all the rage these days), but i was looking at attempting to install a Pod Filter and some BOV's - but i am not completely sure as to what brand's to go for (terms of quality/ease of fit/reliability etc..) or where to source them from - so looking to my fellow forum members here for some guidance :) - preferably id like a local source i can drive to and pick up from so i can look at doing it over the next 5 days i have off work - but if i must order them i shall. Anyways any advice would be much appreciated. :zlove:

I had an apexi pod, bought it from caz... Also heard good things about 3A racing brand from supercrap... apparently works just as well at a fraction of the price.

i have just bought the 3A racing filter. In a couple of tests including a test by wheels magazine 3A racing came 1st is flow and 2nd in filtraiton.

Highly reccomend it. mine was 39$ BUT you do need to purchase an adaptor for it. (an extra $12-19$).

ive known people to buy these from supr cheap auto, auto 1, and i bought mine from ""motoquipe". (not a very good shop but had air filters and bov's too) !

    good luck mate

3A are the way to go IMO

motoquip are not too badly priced either... all the blokes who work there drive lancer's and know SFA about jap cars but have some interesting products occassionally

Sweet, might go look at the 3A one then that way i can attempt it over my next few days off work, and in terms of the BOV's can anyone recommend a particular brand/type went to the Caz website and looked but too many options lol - as you can no doubt tell i know relatively nothing in this regards so the more specific the better :)

What kind of Bovs, recirc or atmo?

Do you want full blown turbosmart kit with hard pipes like below?

Or do you want to install in factory location?

Are you planning for big mods later?

Any atmo bov will earn yellow sticker... I don't think that is a secret? But you are right much better to suggest your favourite supplier never mind asking the dude what exactly he's after.

As far as valves not all are equal based on flow (piston size) and construction. But you can figure that out.

P.S my penis is bigger, there I said it.

Haha, well i think everyone needs to calm down a little  thanks for the help so far from all parties its much appreciated and needed, just a question why would it get me a yellow sticker - i mean like i understand not supposed to have them etc.. but why whats the reasoning behind it - does it make anything unsafe or what ? and i guess id try the ''atmo'' ones (i am a big kid) and if i ever get in trouble ill sort it out :) - factory location sounds better - and easier to follow the tech guide then too haha  so if anything i said helps/makes it easier to recommend some - please do :p

one thing having atmo bov's,another shoving them into a coppers face in plain view and saying suck on that ,factory location is a far better option :)

Hahaha very very true, considering i want to join the police academy this year anyways i shouldn't cause too much of an upset :p but yes atmo in the factory position seems the go - just need a particular brand/model/type recommended now

    atmo is short for atmospheric

the other type is called a plumb back, or recirculating blow off valve,

    also gets shortened to bov........
