Where to get Intake/Turbo Hoses

1989 Z32 TT Targa Import 2+2. I need to replace some of the Air Intake hoses. I've done some digging around and can only find unbelievable priced individual hoses from Nissan or kits from elsewhere. I only want to replace 8 hoses and possibly get a spare for each of the throttle body connection (14463PJ and corresponding opposite hose).

I was looking at replacing these with silicone hoses.

    1. Is there anywhere that sells individual hoses?
    2. Is there anywhere in Australia that sells hoses in kits or individual?
    3. Has anyone tried the $300 (or there abouts) complete silicone hose kits on ebay from China and if so, what is the verdict on quality?

I am happy to purchase what they call a "Nissan 300ZX Z32 silicone turbo intercooler hose kits" (about $50) but I also want the 2 hoses off each of the stock intercoolers (14463PE and 14463PG and corresponding opposite hoses), which do not come in these kits.

Any help or feedback would be great.

My Z has now been off the road for about 3 months and my Celica (spare daily driver) died today. I feel the cost of repair is going to exceed the cost getting the Z back on the road.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris

Nice informative post ! - all the detail that is required - is there

Budget is an issue that I cannot help with :(

My personal experience with ebay silicon hoses (and other places...) has been a let down - I went through a few sets with all sorts of problems (leaks/ fitment issues etc.) until I went to Mishimoto's and realised the difference in fitment and quality (they even sit well when you move your pipes around such as bigger turbo's). Wish I had known this from the start as it would have saved myself a lot of money that was otherwise wasted.

Seems that not all silicon hoses are created equal....even though I am, sure there are hoses out there that are much cheaper and will do nicely

I do want to change mine from black to red (to match the colour scheme better), so would consider selling them cheaper than cost (virtually new as the car has been in rebuild since purchasing) but genuine mishimoto's will dent any budget.

I have a friend who is a mechanic and he purchased another type a little while ago from the U.S. (and they seem good and much cheaper). I will ask him next time I see him where they come from and if he is still happy with them. Will post back if no one has helped you by then.

Sorry I cannot help you any more - I can only go on my own personal experience on this one.

    JC

    Go to the wreckers?

Large scale wrecking yards might have 1 or 2 Z32s in there. They charge generic pricing across the board and they don't care that 300ZX parts are much more expensive than say Falcon parts. You could probably get those hoses for $10 ea.

pull the hose and see if turbosmart have something the same, that's what I did when fitting a front mount intercooler, The $50 in engine room ones are go to go.

have a look at conceptzperformnace in the states, they have both genuine and aftermarket to suit most budgets........

alternately, shop local at carcraze, or RGS performance or a number of others.

Hey mate ive got a "full" silicone hose kit i bought from aliexpress for about 500 shipped . Ive had them on for about 4 months . The intake and rad hoses fit great and have shown no signs of issues yet. However at least half of the hoses in the full kit were wrong or did not fit .
That being said it still cost me less than oem for what i have . Lemme know if you need any more info
