I just got a new front bar installed, and i cant see where to attach the number plate? Its a NSW slimline one, and it just doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Can someone please post a pic of how they've managed to attach the plate on a similarly modified front bar?
did a good job of cuttin the front bar when you work it out.. tell me, as i'll ned to do the same when i get a front mount
Here's what I did... I have 2 90° angled metal brackets that are bolted on to the underside of the front intake. The number plate is then attached to this and protudes from the front bar by about 5mm. That way the number plate and brackets can be removed and you won't see the bolt holes. Here's a pic:
that is a nice front bar MikeZ however the pic makes it look like you've got HUGE camber issues at the front!
It's a Bomex bar and the Zed did have big camber issues until I fitted some adjustable upper arms and tension rods. No probs now! :zlove:
Re: It's a Bomex bar Hey Mike I just checked out your profile, I love the interior, the silver looks so modern, I think you have just inspired me. umm the other pic isn't half bad either.
You could hinge it in the IC hole. So when you go quick it folds back into the opening. Stealth Z32 for speed cameras that way !!
just get an old antenna motor and wire it up so the number plate slides dow n or hinges away. transporter styles.
omg, all great ideas keep them coming guys in regards to the spring idea, you could set the tension so it folds away at a certain wind speed, namely 90km/hr or higher
i have modified my stock front bar the same as that and here is a pic with my number plate. i dont know if its legal here but i havent been pulled over yet and have passed many cops
yeh i got the same bar as mike and it is a bombex, and i have my plate mounted exactly like his, with the brackets, just pot riveted them on
