Dude, read the question. He's not chasing any times and he's not after max speed (which as ZedEx has said is related more to gearbox / diff ratios) All he wants is a dyno queen, plain and simple and wants to know how much power people have screwed out of their vg30dett. -Kirill

well no i guess the answer to "how much HP can i get out of 300zx cos i want a dyno queen" would be, whatever the theoretical HP for a VG30 is, which has been stated (however 2000 hp would probably blow it to bits as mentioned). Power is not infinite given lots of money.
Everyone is asking because they want to see if he has set any kind of figure to aim for, and if he has, they can possibly offer more relevant advice on what needs to be done. Your formula for HP is flawed, HP gain is exponential, each additional HP costs more. There are also physical limits obviously, it's not like I can get 1 million dollars and build a vg30 that makes 400,000HP. -Kirill
Nah, standard 300zx motor is SG30 (standard grade 3.0), VG30 is what you get if you use the heads off rb40, becomes VG30 (variable grade 3.0) variable means that power output is variable based on other factors in the rb40 head.. It's a common build for very high HP cars.. -Kirill

DAMIT! what am i gona do with this million then! Wouldnt you eventualy get to the stage where you have built out nearly all of the VG30? We've done that in our 4X4's we build, by the end of it its just sorta the cab left..
