    Well I just got the news back that the core on my radiator is gone.. :( so I'm stuck with no cash and therefore no car for a couple of weeks at least.. my options are:

    Put a new standard 25mm core into my radiator: $500
    Buy a 29mm core radiator complete: $550
    Put a twin pass 40mm copper core into my radiator: $600
    Buy a 40mm core full alloy brand new radiator: $785
    Buy a 40mm core full alloy TWIN PASS new radiator: $820

    hmmn....

    Any ideas?

    Donations?

    Second hand radiators kicking around for sale?

    Help? :(

    4 Swedish blondes :LOL::LOL:

    I would go for these two personally;
    Buy a 40mm core full alloy brand new radiator: $785
    Buy a 40mm core full alloy TWIN PASS new radiator: $820
    I reckon if you are going to do something you should do it properly. Plus these two radiators will give you no problems in the future, as they are full alloy and " no plastic end tanks to worry about" :LOL: I ripped that straight from the advert.

    But once damaged...

    But if they even get a pin prick sized hole in the fins the alloy can't be repaired...

    In the bin! :thumbsdown:

    But a copper core can be repaired... I also got offered by my local radiator guy a brand new OEM radiator as is for $500... not bad.

    Hmmn..!

    Is it a copper core with plastic end tanks? Just wait and see what other

    people will have to say on this as i know a lot off people will have the alloy radiators and they can comment on their reliability, longevity.

    I am not an expert on the subject, but the standard TT radiator seems like it is too small for Australian use. Don't forget that these cars were designed for japanese conditions. In the european TTZ they fitted a bigger radiator for a purpose.

    Another option for you to think about......

    A full alloy 53mm Koyo from the boys at Pittwater Radiator. I organised an "open ended GB" a couple of years ago for just over $700 ea. I'm sure the price has risen a bit since then but I think it would be worth giving them a call because I'm sure Mick or Geno will look after you.

    There are many members using the Koyo so I'm sure you can get some more feed back but I've been using (and abusing) the Koyo for about 2.5yrs and am more than happy with it.

    Egg ....

    Price Rise?

    Actually, the Koyo radiators have dropped in price... especially in the last year, I've seen them for about $200USD lately.

    I have a second hand TT manual radiator that has a busted side tank. You can have that for $40. Then you just have to get the tank taken off your old radiator and fitted on this one.

    Should be bloody cheap.

    There ya go saved $450 !!

    Pay for the postage (prob $15) and you can send down the $40 when you have it.

    Hows that?
