Theres more but it comes down to what you want. I wouldn't have thrown out my carbon canister if i didnt have to but my big intercoolers wouldnt fit with it in place.

can also chuck out a heap of piping if you install a pod filter.

already got the pod on. well off again now.

    EGR

Exhaust Gas Recirculation, the big dome thing at the back of the engine, there is a pipe on the passenger side manifold feeding it, it puts exhaust gas back into your air intake via teo tubes to the plenum

My mate was looking at that the other day he was impressed and dumbfounded at the same time haha. thanks Raheen

You would want to consider the reprecussions of all deletes. Hicas, & air con are options.

Hicas will be done eventually are there lines for this in the engine bay?

Aircon will stay as crappy as melbourne weather is

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

You didn't have to do that, here's how large SMIC's can fit while keeping the Carbon Canister...

Nah Benny, Z1 side mounts are much thicker than the Japtek. They even have a guide on removing it on the Z1 site especially for fitting them. They aren't as tall but being thicker instead and use the stock air guide to cover the whole face. Mening removing the foglights would have no difference because they're entirely fed via the original ducts. Being shorter than the Japteks also it was hitting the canister itself not the piping.

    as i said via p.m

make sure you dont have any oil leaks on the top of the engine before you put the plenum back on ..

its always a good thing to just take the tops of and re seal the top end.

its a mater of how much you want to delete

    S13 cc

will fit behind any smic, unless its 6'' thick.

If your egr is working leave it where it is, Its actually a good thing:zlove:

I suppose I could install something like that, however I've never so much as detected a slight fuel smell even in my garage. Its not that bad, I still have EGR and nice new expensive exhaust cats.

How is an EGR good for anything other than making the car appear to have less emissions? There are people on here who have passed smog tests with them removed.

    Well

other than "cleaning up" the engine bay there is no advantage to removing the egr, and a slight disadvantage as unlike a lot of "emissions stuff" the EGR actually improves fuel economy while cruising at steady speeds (the only time it's active).and introducing already burned exhaust gases into the intake it reduces combustion chamber temperatures (already burned gases cannot burn again). Along with reducing oxides of nitrogen emissions this lowered combustion temperature also allows more advanced timing, which improves overall engine efficiency.

Hmmm, this may be true, but my mind rebels at the thought of feeding dirty air into my engine. Also Advanced timing is for increasing power right? So if the EGR is only active while cruising then advanced timing would make no difference, and when you give it stick you still need to retard the timing as only clean air will be being fed to the engine. I suspect the lower combustion temp will be related more to having less oxygen in the intake air vs carbon monoxide anyway, so any theoretical power gains would be null due to a less powerful explosion of the combined fuel/air mixture.

Long story short, I'm still for removing the EGR.

    Everything

If you really want to improve your fuel economy and emissions. Remove the engine, hell remove everything to make it light and just push your car around.

I pulled everything I could, its so needlessly over complicated.

    AIV - gone
    Carbon Canister - gone
    PRVP - gone
    EGR - gone
    Hicas - gone

Fuel goes in, gets mixed with air, combusts, powers turbo and goes out the back anything other than that is not needed IMHO.
