Isn't "10" getting a bit thin for an older engine? Certainly good at start up. Just wondering if the lighter component of the oil would tend to leak past seals and rings?
It really is a personal choice... I use Mobile 10W-40 S Synth motor oil & find it works great
The brand can be a personal choice, but the grade of oil u use will depend on what kind of condition your engine is in if it's got a bit of k's on it than u should use something a little bit thicker but always use syntethic oil.
You have plenty of quality oils to choose from I think that 10W-40, 10W-50, 15W-40, 15W-50 would all do the job. I happen to use Mobil Synth S 10W-40 (with 126,000 on the clock). Remember the boys at Proline recommending a semi-synthetic 15W-40. This allows you to top up with either a mineral or synthetic oil in an emergency.
