the blue thing with the white cap on the left of the FPCU. found at least 2 of these and can't work out what they are, help! also the blue relay is for the interior lights yes?
blue relay is for the interior light, im not sure what the other thing is. Not a fuse of some sort is it?
dunno dude but there's another one in the drivers side footwell where the fuse box is. im gettin rid of all the obsolete wiring, the interior light relay can go now i know what it is.
It is a bunch of diodes, indicated by the symbol on the translucent cover and subsequent inspection if you pull the cover off. It's purpose... no idea
mate i've been studying them for ages and can't find anything, all my poor eyes can see now is a horrible rainbow of coloured wires.
Kierens observation of diode symbols on the case make me think its the item middle right of this picture.
The diodes in EL-64 provide isolation between the 3 switched earths that can all operate the "room lamp relay". With out the diodes the actions would not be exclusive. The drivers side door switch also signals the "Time Control Unit", see EL-78 below for details. The passenger door just turns the room lamp relay on. The back door switch also turns the luggage room lamp on. With out the diodes all 3 switches would do all actions.
cool thanks for that brisz. seeing as i don't have any door switches or interior lights anymore i might as well chop it out and store it away.
