Hey guys, Was wondering what do I need to do for a major service ? on a 92 300zx 2+0 N/A. I've done about 200,000km's. Was planning to do the easy stuff i.e. fluid changes, filters myself, but the other major stuff like the water pump, spark plug leads most likely head of to the mechanics or if anybody know's some where in Sydney a cheap/decent mechanic to do a major service. and also what MM do guys Gap your spark plugs ? Cheers, Joel
look up concept z website for the parts required for a 200 000K service. A little more extensive than just fluid and plugs...... couple of thousand $$$ more extensive if you dont DIY.
Thanks is the shipping prices decent ? Not the best of all mechanics, learnt my lesson on fixing cars, probally cheaper if i give the car to the mechanic, otherwise i'll be doing more damage than good some how...
The kit from coz including shipping is well priced, also add some woodruff keys to it as they arnt on the kits list, may as well as they are like 2 dollars instead of using the 20 year old ones.might also want to pull plenum and all that, replace connectors and what not while your there.
What kit from concept z ? and the woodruff keys cant seem to find them, also whats the plenum ? Sorry abit noob, and new to this stuff
haha you dont realise what youv gotten yourself into do you muahahahahah... enjoy the zed life i hope it last long for you just stay strong and mabee youl survive btw this is a plenum
Was wondering what do I need to do for a major service ? on a 92 300zx 2+0 N/A Search the many thousands of articles on the internet about what you need to do ... google is your friend
The 100k kit on the website, its all catagorised so have a look at engine parts in oem section on czp. The forum tech section is a good place to start have a read through the write ups and see whats involved in the timing belt service.there is plenty of other usefull info, it might take a while to get through it all but worth it. If your getting a mechanic to do the big service, getting the kit from czp will save you big time in money from parts nissan here are generally expencive on most items.
from memory, member zed4life, has on his website (ZEDCARE) a fairly comprehensive listing of parts required for both the 100kkm service and a plenum pull/water pipe by-pass. worth a look.
Cheap and decent seldom go hand in hand, especially in Sydney! There are a number of experienced and honest workshops around though... Unique Auto Sports in Seven Hills www.nismo.com.au 02 9620 9000 Andrew Suvajac at ASR Automotive in Castle Hill 02 8677 3000 MRC Dyno and Performance in Castle Hill www.mrcdyno.com.au 02 9634 5399 All have worked on a multitude of 300zx's and will be able to give you a quote.
i did see myself getting into this mess, all my mates where like nah dont get a Z big headaches but its one of my dream cars. And why do i need to pull the plenum apart ?
Give it to UAS. You're really not in a position to DIY it and any money you might save now by trying will be offset when you have to give it to them anyway to fix up what you missed. http://www.ttzd.com/tech/60ktech.html That's whats involved in the 100,000k service. Far as I know the 200k and 100k are identical as 200k isn't listed in the service manual from what I can see.
best thing to do it buy the parts, and then get quotes, you will be looking at a minimum of $1000 labour...
time to spend some considerable time reading up in the Tech Section and to do some searching on the site, methinks.
