I agree Neil, try another PTU - easy test. If you were in ACT it would

be the first test. OK zedders, where's the nearest spare unit?

    Cheers,

    Peter

    You can borrow mine =>

If you are uncertain its the PTU thats faulty you can pull mine out of my car and plug it into yours. It may save you having to buy a PTU if the problem is elsewhere.

I also know a guy from Yeppoon who has a wrecked Z that he may consider parting out.

PM or email me if interested.

Grenfel bought a series two PTU complete with conversion

wiring kit for circa $175US here.

Why muck about with another series one (which will fail eventually) when you can get a series 2 for this sort of price!

was just thinking ... I know that is strange ... so is what I am about to say.....

    from the Site listed:
Surely that would not be limited to warranty.... if it is a component failure they would be required to replace all if requested.
I mean if Nissan still make an
it is still a known problem....

would be interesting to see the wording on the initial recall.....

Could save A LOT of ppl a lot of money......

    Just a thought

I could be wrong on this....

but I'm pretty sure this was investigated 3 years or so ago by some of the "leading lights" of our forum, and Nissan basically told them the recall was for the US only and that was the end of the matter.

    Correct.......>>

Recall was only for the US and (I think) Canada, and no amount of letters sent to Nissan Australia ever managed to change it.
