This morning I had a strange experience with my Z. At the traffic lights, noticed the following - - stereo headunit powered off.. (Thought it died). - A few seconds later I noticed my exhaust burped for one beat as if its going to stall or its slightly missing. - At same time my tacho went spastic and immediately did a number of non stop high speed fluctuations between 0 and typical idle rpm 700 or 800rpm - RPM movement was accompanied by a almost buzzing sound directly behind the dash. Not sure if its the actual sound of the RPM needle going spastic or a relay behind there doing tricks. Sounds like a mechanical buzzer. - Car Stalled. I thought crap, startup car again. Radio back on everything okay. At crusing speed everything okay. Then next lights same thing at idle. I just pulled over to nearest safest street to park and caught bus to work. About 3 months ago I noticed only 2 times a loud backfire noise coming from my Z sounded like a shotgun.. I hasn't happened since I guess that one would be the CAS connector or CAS itself. Not sure if related to this mornings issue. Any ideas ?
