I am in the same boat. I temproarily ziptied my sender to the engine coolant pipe invetween the CTS and temp gauge sensor.

Since I ordered a new Radiator fom PWR, I got them to put a boss in the radiator tank right under the inlet, so I can run my aftermarket gauge. Water flows right through the pipe and into the radiator there, so I feel the temperature should still be pretty accurate.

    My thread was M10 x 1.0 (tapered)

The radiator arrives on the 13th.

Other option is to go to a good Jap wreckers like I did and get a temp

adapter and then you cut the top radiator hose in half, chop a little out and insert. You will need a couple of extra hose clamps for this one. This adapter is a short alloy piece the has a boss in it that takes your temp sender. They use these alot in Japan and are farely cheap from wreckers. Mine works great.

The hardest, but neatest & most reliable way is to.......

drill and tap the original sensor hole (in the alloy housing on the front of your motor) and use an adaptor for your new sender unit.

You can then use your original wiring harness instead of having to run unsightly wires under your bonnet. All you need to do is intercept the wire (behind the instrument cluster) going to your oem temp gauge and Presto you're in business.

p.s you cannot interchange any of the temp sender units because they are calibrated to work ONLY with the proper gauge

If that was a question -

Heaps of workshops do aluminium welding.

Lots of them make it look like pidgeon shit.

I'd suggest you ask to see a sample of their work if you are going down that line.

    Cheers, Dean

Re: If that was a question -

Thats why i'm getting mine in the radiator tank.

It'll be below the top hose, so out of site,
so it doesn't matter if it lookes like shite.

    I'm a poet and I didn't even know'et. LOL

PWR should do a good job though none the less.
