A new one from Nissan is $95. Just get one of them.

Get a new Nissan water pump. Not fixable and false economy to use a second hand one.

However, if you have done the 100k service on time, where water pump among several other things would have been replaced, water pump should not leak (if genuine)

The dude was quoting me nearly 600$ for a new water pump plus installation =O that was the starting price anyway. yeah i can understand needing a brand new one.. It is genuine but the car has been sitting for quite some time therefore things wear out... so indeed it does need a new water pump.

i got it serviced at nissan last week... got the 120k done (the 100 was missed i didnt own then and that is why) but they did do some 100k things but nissan were useless didnt fix anythign at all.. paid 2 grand had to take it back today and say fix it properly... cause it was literally like they sat it in the garage for a week and then gave it back.. very annoyed about it.

Its about a 5 hour job to change the water pump. I can image how they would charge $600 as their labour RATE is huge.

Sounds like you need to read up a bit on servicing. The 100k service is vital and it does include a new water pump. (not by Nissan's schedule though)

Find out exactly what was done in your 120k service and compare to what you can find out one here by using search.

You can start by looking at what is included in the 100k kit at www.cazracing.com.au

Aah, don't be so harsh on Nissan. They are just like any other mechanics out there.

I actually had them do the 100k on the convertible, but I gave them all the parts and told them exactly what to do. They did OK.

I just got my car back (from Nissan) the service ended up costing me $2000!!! which is understandable it was a 120k service (with bits of 100k cause that hadnt been done eg cambelts...) and they replaced.. i
    xCam belts
    xTensioners
    xfan belts aircon belts etc...
    xpowersteering cable
    x2 radiator pipes(something rather)
    xfull radiator flush

anyway.. it was squeeking(the belts i assume) when i started mainly or turned my airconditioner on.. so i figured the belts were old considering the age of the car and the cam belts hadnt been replaced so ill replace them all... and guess what i got it back from nissan and it still squeeked and the dude tried to tell me its cause they spilt coolent on the belts during the flush(does he think im 6 yrs old) and in the service report i wanted a new clutch cause mine squeeks and anyway it says 'no squeek heard or notcied etc' as soon as i picked it up.. pushed in the clutch...'sssqqqquuueeecccckkkkk' (**** head) so i was frustrated.. so ive taken it back today and they said they will look over it again...so i have now learnt that i will never ever take it to nissan for a service... kinda desperate to find someone who is okay in price .. price isnt to much of an issue when it comes to my car.. as long as its done properly and correctly and they want to work on the car.

Hmm, a clutch does not squeek when you push the pedal. The springs on the pedal may, or the throw out bearing may.

You need a new clutch when it starts slipping and you don't get anywhere.

Squeek when you turn on the air con sounds like your compressor is on the way out or the belts not tensioned enough (or something spilled on the belt)

You just said the cam belts had been replaced

lol the cambelt thing is a typo lol yes they have been replaced and thats out of the way...

I dont know if it needed replacing or not.. keeping in mind this is my first car. The point is i asked for it to be fixed... and ... they said it didnt squeek at all.. the mechanic over the road said it sounds like the throw out bearing ... so i have no idea how much thats going to set me back. ill put up a picture of my baby.. i havnt got a decent one yet cause its been at the shop twice now... already =(
