Hi all, I did a boost leak test today and things were not to bad ,1 leak on the intercooler line and that is about it BUT I do have a leak coming from both Wastegate actuator control valves. When I first pressured the system to only 5 psi I heard hissing from one valve then it when POP and is now coming from both valves from out of a small hole which looks like a bleed hole .Does this mean that the diaphrams in the actuators have blown I would think there should not be anything coming from them and they should hold the 5psi without a problem...what do you think...John What is the repair situation for this??

    yes you are right.

if you are getting hissing coming from the little vent hole in the actuators, the diaphrams are cracked or burst. you will need to have them replaced. sorry, i've had the same issue. Turbo pull job. BIG PITA

To confirm this. you can pull the wastegate hose off and blow into it with your mouth and it should not have much restriction if they are in fact busted.

    Sorry for the news.

can the actuators be removed without pulling the turbo's?

    Maybe pass side

    but drivers side - no.
And depending on who you speak to or who you take it to, most people will say it's an engine pull to do the turbos.

I was fortunate enough to have a mechanic who was up for the challenge to do my drivers' side one with engine in. he unbolted the turbo (not removed, just to separate from engine for movement) then he had the ability to separate the actuator and replace it. but still a bit PITA
