can you describe the picture or symbol that's lighting up?
Or check this pic for reference. It's from the tech section.

its like a rectangle with a line out of the left and right side with 4 s type lines out of the top (2nd or 3rd from left under temp gauge)

I think you mean the cat temp light. It means that your catalytic converters are getting too hot usually after a really long drive or if your car runs excessively rich then that could trigger it also.
Do you find that your car runs rich? Maybe check it up on conzult to see if any error codes pop up for the coolant temp sensor or for the o2's.

it is running rich, but the light only came on when the engine was cold.

are you sure that the temp sensors are connected to the cats? sometimes they'll cut the wires but forget to shield them so the wire will trigger the light even though it's not plugged into the cat temp sensor.

the car will run rich when the engine is cold. this is because the ecu senses that the coolant is cold (coolant temp sensor) and richens up the fuel mix until the coolant temperature rises. also you've got the aiv system which richens up the fuel mix abit more to allow unburnt fuel to heat up the cats quickly so that they reach operating (light-off) temp quickly.

maybe if your car was already running excessively rich then a cold start up could have triggered the high cat temperature and the warning light.

    hope this helps.

    Should I be careful?

My cat temp light is on pretty much all the time. Mostly its flashing, but more on than off. Doesn't matter if the car is hot or cold. How can I fix it, cause it annoying me a bit. What does it mean that it is running rich? That the air/fuel mixture is rich?? If so, should I give it a service and tune it up and would that get rid of it? The car runs great. It is a bit heavy and fuel and sometimes it is lacking slightly when I accelerate, compare to what I think it did when I bought it. But not sure cause it didn't just suddenly happen. The light came on more and more often. If I look under the car, there is two cable going in to the exhaust. I assume it is actually the cat's. One of them is not connected, can that be my problem too? However I think that cable has been disconnected since I bought it, and the light first started to come on a week later.
Can anybody help me, and know what I can do about it?

The cable that is not connected could be touching the chassis on bumps and sending the signal that causes the light to flash on your dash.
Next time you get the car up on a hoist just re-attach the cable or secure it so that it can't touch the chassis.

Is your car actually running rich?

    hmmm

I find it strange if the cable touch the chassis that much. And it is also flashing when I standing still. I don't know if it is running rich, how can I check that? It runs great, no problems at all. But as I said, I feel it is using a bit more petrol and it is slightly lacking the first sec when I accelerate than it did when I bought it. But I'm not 100% sure if it is because it is running rich or if I just got use to the power after driving it for a while.
Are there any way I can check it?
