[WA] - Farewell Cruise (Sort of)

I guess everyone was pretty knackered after the cruise today as no one has posted anything. I literally went to bed upon arrival at the homestead, so forgive my tardiness in getting this up on the boards!

Was a great day. Was woken by my cameraman twice before 8:15 in the morning and needless to say it wasn't the start of the day I was hoping for. We quickly washed the car, grabbed the camera's and we were off.

We got to the meet point about 10am and found 2 zeds, a 350z, a skyline and a porsche and we immediately thought...wow, Brad and Josh....not that popular.

Josh's Green Machine makes its first official public appearance....looks great in the sun!






He even had his mommy make some matching pillows....awwwww

Luckily though a few more tag alongs showed up and by about 10:30 we were on our way. Unfortunately I was the only person to actually exit the carpark correctly. Brad decided to head north....when we were heading south and Mickey (with my camera man riding shotgun) started following some skyline which wasn't even on the cruise in the completely wrong direction before realising their mistake!

So I spent 20 minutes cruising by myself. Josh, Brad, Kris, Jess, Terry, Rob and Ryan all put their foots down but still only caught me at the exit ramp.....and mickey and don showed up much later!

After a 1 hour meetpoint and 20 minutes of driving, we resumed another 45 minutes break.....geez we're slack!










































After the sitting around we resumed driving and suddenly the fun started! We hit the freeway hard and turned plenty of heads as we went. Great to see everyone responding well to the camera too. Chris was most impressed with the fact that people would wait for him to be shooting before they did fly by's and such.
















We got to mandurah and found this nice quiet oval and josh had a bright idea......lets have a photo shoot.

The following shots resulted, I was pleased as punch!







































We then proceeded to The Brighton for some lunch, some drinks and to hear brad compliment people on "their meat" (to be explained in the forthcoming video).

We all met up in the carpark after lunch for the high speed dash home. Which included getting mooned by a van full of teenagers (all see the video).

Had a great time, can't remember the last time I was that knackered from a cruise.....was a long ass day!

i am so regretting this.. sorry guys couldn't make it, i finish work at 2am last night then had some poker game going hit the bed around 6am. Did set the alarm to wake up but didn't work..

can't wait for the next one....

 

dude, keep in mind when you're quoting to remove pics. We now have a page that's filled with over a hundred pics because you quoted. gonna take dialup users forever to load the page.

 

ok i vote to ban rovlive on account of replying with pictures making the thread twice as long as it should be!!

some great pics there, wish i could have made it, had work today and really needed the money.

hopefully they have no problems travelling across. i thought brad was going to take phatt over on a trailer with DUB towing it?

josh's car came up really well once it was all back together. really needs to change the taillights to update it a bit i reckon.

Awww dam I missed out I was planing on doing something else but those plans got cancelled at 10 to 10am but I though that I wouldn?t be able to get there by 10 so I didn?t go but reading that you didn?t leave till 10:30 makes it hurt that little bit more

 

Great cruise fella's

Yeh was interesting coming to the meet lateish and seeing only a couple of zeds a skyline and a porsche!, after proceeding to leave following Don - 350Z and 2 skylines in front of him, we found out those skylines wern't part of the cruise and took us to Graham farmer freeway, completely the wrong way! grrrr

Have to say, having chris filming basically out of my car was crazy, i can say first hand that this video should be much better than the other one, far far better footage

Special mention should go to Ryan - Blue32zx for being committed and driving up from Bunbury at 6am to make the cruise, committment fella's!

All in all a great day, oh yeh chris make another good vid and u'll get more cheap games hahah

So what is the final word on Brads car?

 

Kris's absolutely stunning R33?? is that car a shade of purple.. stunning??. as a previous skyline owner i can say it looks like every other one on the road

 

She runs well but will not make full boost Pete, the only cause after days of exhaustive testing is a failing turbo so am not heading across to the Nast unfortunately

Looks like some new turbos in the future...

 

Yeah I think he said its white with a lilac pearl or something. Mixed comments regarding the colour, personally I like it. Its different and makes you look twice to check just what colour it is.

And the tommy kaira kit looks absolutely amazing. I reckon you'd struggle to find many skylines with that kit in perth! Goes hard too....as josh found out....twice!

 

So sorry to hear that Brad. No chance of picking up some cheap airfares and popping over for a visit? I was really looking forward to seeing your car in person, because I don't think the photos have really done all your work justice, but even if the car can't make it catching up and partying with you again would be good any way. So does that mean that Josh isn't coming either?

 

Great pics there Paul, you and Chris did a really stirling job with the camera all day once again! Excellent work.

To be honest I'm pretty jaded about the whole thing Pete. It's been a pretty solid 6 months of further modifying to only have this happen at the last minute. The worst thing is she still drives fine (up to a point) but to risk having a turbo seize in the middle of the Nullabor and have it towed home (remember the TNT incident last time) just doesn't make sense.
I'm getting a Conzult tomorrow or Wednesday to further look into altering some timing and fuel percentages. See how we go.
