Well after many chats to a variety of different workshops around Perth as to what could be the problem with my z - i think i have finally stumbled onto a place that i could trust to take the z to.
From comments of 'its your o2 sensors' to 'nup wont touch a zed' and the good old thoughts of some mechanics "mmm she is a chick so she knows sfa"
i ended up popping into Tim Slako's West Racing and having a chat to one of the mechanics there who happily gave up some of his time to listen to me.
basically i was just after a workshop open on saturdays with a dyno so they could tell me if it was fuel pressure, electrical etc and the guys at West Racing were quite happy to let me bring it in and after mentioning the rx7 it seems that they know a thing or two about them too! (it was running lean on Hyperdrive's dyno on the dyno day and hyperdrive refused to run it coz they knew nothing about rotors)

so this morning we cruise in with the two little red cars and about an hr later we have the results that dans rx7 is running a little lean and it is fuel pressure, but as it is only lean at low boost it is ok to drive and as long as he doesnt give it shit every change and stays under 7000rpm he will be fine :D
and the z.... well it turns out they think it is spark related and is possibly the coils. nothing to do with fuel pressure after all!
but the best bit was that Tim actually talked to you very straight forward and let you know what was going on, was happy not to push you into buying things or upgrading things, he had an interesting opinion on other workshop dyno's where he had caught them out with false figures from dynoing after 'preformance' mods were done when there was actually no change in power.
oh and he let us drive the cars ONTO the dyno and you can sit at the computer or stand next to your car etc if you want to have a really good look at what they do (they allow this to prove they arent setting it up for a higher power reading than what you have actually got)

oh and the mornings efforts cost us a total of $60

    fckn brilliant i reckon
