hey, when your drag racing, or just trying to launch well....
do you build up the revs to about __<---(please specify) then drop the clutch?
    or quickly let it out?...

    bit of a novice atm.

iv read http://www.motorplex.com.au/how_to_go_dragracing/index.html but it didnt say much if any, about the launching :(

good luck to you at the drags...tonight. what time you hoping for?

there's a good right up on antilag. Ive got a link at home so will post later.

    I found it VERY helpful

    Launching is a black art.

in my 180sx, dumping the clutch at about 5000 rpm seemd the way to go

but diferetn tyres, pressure, dif... it all changes

when i went to the plex with the zed... i just couldnt get a decent launch out if it. Clutch was slipping after first run but.....

in *cough* "practice", it seems a slight ride of the clutch produces the best launch with the setup i have at the mo. But once i get a new clutch, it will all change again

so really it comes down to knowing your car imho

But ill find you that link. DAMN helpful stuff.

Well it would seem no one else knew it was on either!

They was probly on 30-40 cars there I had done 7 runs by 7:30 and that includes a 1/2 hour brake to watch everyone else!

Ended up getting a 13.6 @ 170 km/hr but never got a really good launch, still was pretty happy with considering the car is practically stock and my tyres are fairly old and stiff. Was a bit of Fun anyway, I reckon I'll have to take the 86 out and see wht it can do with the new motor although it will be slower than that
