Imports101 Removed twin plate clutch and replace with a single (my request) but screwed up on installing the spigot bushing and as a result killed what was left of my input bearing in my gearbox and then made the rest of it sick
alot of places dont 'rip people off' its just they don't know zeds so they work alot slower and take longer to do things then people who do know them...
dude this is not a discussion, a lot of places do EI PAYING FOR A 1PCE DRIVE SHAFT AND NOT GETTING ONE......... not 2 mention down under autos that you reccomended 2 kirst and she got royally ripped off
ive never heard of down under autos man... the place I told kirst to go to is a mate of mine and he had always been good to me in the past... how is this my fault...
LOL!!! I wouldn't pay them a dime, I hope sabrewolf is following up on that. I've had nothing but bad experiences with precise auto aswell. they ripped me when I had my dumps installed.
Damn good thread, keep it going as we need to know who likes to rip us off. However, I also think that there is a need for a reccomended places thread.
I think this is a very good idea but once the mods see this thread it will be deleted because of deformation to the buisness name... sad but true you can get shit service and still can't tell the world about it
btw this is vic. all states should add their input i think THE BAD Who: Zshop What: installing new clutch when car was NA and was told i had to fix the tailshaft because it was vibrating when i brought it in (was running fine) Who: Zshop What: 'fixing' tailshaft vibrations and it still vibrating Who: Zshop What: after taking out a fuse for my breaklights i took my car to zed shop to see how much shit they talk. he didnt check any of the fuses and said it was a very expensive wiring job would take a full days work. never went back so i headed down to nissport who didnt do right by me either. Who: Nissport What: having general checkup on my zed was told to leave the car there as my engine would die if i tried to drive it home, 7 months later it is still going hard THE GOOD Who: Sabbadin Automotive What: was the 2nd person i took my car to to do the NA to TT conversion was done in 3 days, everything was perfect. has fixed my diff when i busted it 2 streets away form his workshop on a friday night, i pushed it behind his workshop gave him a call he came down on his only sat off for the month and fixed my diff. Car never comes out with more problems then it did like zshop. only bad thing is that he CAN be a bit expensive but you get what you pay for right?
Hmm....don't know if I really like the sound of this thread. IMO just because someone has a bad experience with a place doens't make it "bad". I personally have always had great service by Precise. Not only was dave's work quick and to a quality I was happy with. But he also sourced parts, saved me money by going through suppliers I couldn't and was even nice enough to drop me and pick me up from the train station when my car was in the shop. But then I have heard bad things.....still wouldn't stop me from using dave again if I need some serious work done. I had an extremely bad experience with extreme machines. I got completely ripped, lost my car for 6 weeks and was not happy with the quality when I did finally drive it out of there and never look back. But I can admit that some of this was my fault for not clearly instructing and requesting quotation. I agree that people should be told about dodgy workshops...but only if there have been repeat offences and when the customer (i.e. us) have not been at fault either.
Unfortunately I wasnt in the state when the work was done (was working for 6 weeks in SA). My Dad paid for it all (with my money of course) and said it was done, however he wouldnt really know what he's looking at so just assumed it was done. I too took the liberty of assuming it until 6 months later when the car was on the hoist again for a tech day, where to my disappointment I saw the 2 piece. The week long hunt for paper work after that unfortunately didnt turn up a receipt, and because I had previously cut my ties with Precise I just gave up. Cut my losses. Only one good place in Perth to recommend, and thats PZP.
Another place that is GOOD is Autoclutch in Ozzie park. Franz recommended them and I can also vouch for their work.
i can reccomend balcatta brake and clutch, great blokes there, also ABS in osepark had them make me up some brake tubes cheap as... cypher is pretty good aswell havent had any major dramas with them.. although they dont love the zed.. im now known as MR 300zx down there ...
crap,no one is defaming anybody,they are purely telling people about their experience with a business,it is a public forum after all always makes me laugh how these businesses love people telling about the good service and then scream defamation as soon as someone says about the bad service lol
