Yes I was at the lights the other day when a vy ss sat beside me wanting a go. I don,t bother but I thought what the hell. I can't be sat if a v8 bet me.
I tell you He was flat and so was I.
I was very surprised to find he couldn't keep up to a na.
    I was very shocked.
If this is what an na can do. I would Very much like to see what a tt can do?

    mmm

Unless he had fake ss badges.
But he was going for it.
My mrs has a ford ba - that has a lot of power.
But it is a differant power - not same as 300zx

I think he was playing with you

I have both , a z32 tt manual and a VY SS manual and the Vy is a little bit slow off the line but it eats the 300 from 2nd all the way into 6th SORRY MATE BUT HE WAS PLAYING WITH YOU.

Your Zed must not be running to well then. An SS would give a stock Zed a good go but definitely not eat one. Gen 3 manuals do 13.7 at best and if you have a look at the drag list they're arn't many TT's under that.

I fully vouch for this.....i had a run with a VY SS auto the other day.....he was giving it buggery....i was at about 3/4 throttle and was only reving to 5500rpm between changes.......My N/A has mild porting, 11-1 comp.

And i was looking out my window directly into his...Now who's playing with who?

yeah i reckon you could go a vt SS no worries or others 185, 195 or maybe 205's .

maybe the dude you raced was a shit driver so that still counts as a win for you!:D

Thats 245kw and......... 1900kg of weight remember, plus he loses points for the auto, remember they have greater power loss than a manual.

Suddenly all those ponies don't look so good when they are trying to push a 1900kg fatty around.

They're not 1,900kg. The new VE's which are the heaviest are 1,750kg

weighing in at 250kg that'd be one fat motherfu...

mattyhylander did you just make up the 1900kg figure or has someone else told you thats how much they weigh

    I've got a VT SS 5.0

179kw, my TT would leave it in the dust, NA would be closer, but the Z would still win easy, maybe not an auto....

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

Generally speaking, these threads are a waste of time. The only time you truly know that both you and the other driver are both trying 100% is on a drag strip. Then you can say what was what, and have the numbers to back it up.

Seriously, any VY SS should show their back end to an NA Z32 if they were racing. Doesn't mean anything if it was just a little bit of exercise for the throttle body.

I had a VX before the Z and it was like 1780 or something, so the 1900 was a around about made up figure, at 1750 i was only off by 150.....not too bad

    I agree mikey....

and for the record, a VY SS would obliterate an NA zed if it really wanted to. I love my NA zed, but I know its limits..:)

    Cheers

LOL, Agreed, I even whipped Rob's NA with my V6 Ecotec Storm ute at the drags. A V8 would cruise it in.
