    Brand new from Courtesy Parts.

370Z Gearbox $1600US, 370Z ECU $850US, there are different part numbers for both box and ECU for base/touring and sport, the sport package has the SynchroRev option.

Looking at the back of the VR38DETT it would be pretty difficult to make an adapter, not your normal run of the mill situation, you can get the flywheel housing for $740US.

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

Its easily dooable with just a little imagination and basic engineering skills and equipment.
It will run quite happily and make gobs of power with any affordable standalone programmeable ECU capable of running a V6 sequentially.

Is it worth 12 large plus just to buy the engine and then start????............ well...thats for you to decide.

    For me........nah!

That motor makes less than 360kW at the fly. For the money youre better off with a rebuilt vg, overbored with high flow turbos. the extra displacement will reduce lag and youre still on much more power with less headaches and money.

But it would still be an interesting exercise. Personally i dont like the R35 as a car or its engine.

    LOLzor?

    i said 500hp, not 500rwhp

perhaps it wasn't kabirs car, there was one posted recently the guy made something like 360rwkw with a crappy tune, forget who.

then theres benny who got 320rwkw with hi flo's and stock motor. he spent like what, $4k-5k? thats got to be atleast 550bhp.

hundreds of people are running 230-250rwkw with just bolt on's and that puts you in the 400-440bhp range

    AndyMac Better than you

Why? There are far better options out there for less coin.

LS7 for one, get a crate motor for less than 15k, puts out buckets more torque than the VR, plus you have 19,021 different gearbox's and adaptors to choose from. Plus another 19,001 different turbo and SC bolt on setups to choose from. It'll end up costing you less and give you a engine/tran package that would leave the VR wanting.

Why spend that much coin converting a twin-turbo V6 with an OK gearbox, to a twin-turbo V6 with a gearbox made of glass and 14million electrical gadgets that would be made redundant outside of its donor package.

    exactly. LS9 for the win

"The Gen IV LS9 is a supercharged 6,162 cc (6.162 L; 376.0 cu in) engine, based on the LS3; the LS7 block was not used due to the higher cylinder pressures created by the supercharger requiring the thicker cylinder walls of the LS3. Cylinder dimensions are now 4.06 in (103.1 mm) bore and 3.62 in (91.9 mm) stroke. It is equipped with an Eaton four-lobe Roots type supercharger. Power output is rated 638 bhp (476 kW)@6500rpm and 604 lb?ft (819 N?m)@3800rpm."

If we can blow stock motors in zeds, how long will there motor last ? i got 326rwkw at 21psi full built motor cost me fare bit more than 25k from uas but it was built properly to handle the added power which makes it reliable.
i think the vr38dett puts out 500hp atw on the GTR and does that standard which would be even more reliable all you have to fork out is the labor for the conversion not striping and rebuilding the motor with hi performance pistons rods cams bearings to handle the power then turbos
it would be easier than fitting a 2jz and how many 2jz 300 on youtube have we seen.
would be the same as vh45 as Chrispy done or vq30 like jp just you'll be the first which gives you bragging rights .
even if it cost 5 - 10k more than matching its power with vg i still would do this conversion its newer technology has power + reliability
wish this motor was around when i started my rebuild:(
    it is a good idea

Well considering most stock motors have had close on 20 years of use and abuse, i think that's not too bad. Id say a built motor would last a similar amount of time... If done properly of course. Also from what i've read, servicing isn't exactly cheap on them either. If you are gonna throw huge amounts of money on an engine swap, may as well go LS9 or whatever.
