The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is NOT something similar to the PIN to your bank account.
There appears to be a reluctance by some members to post the VIN on the forum.
There is nothing secret contained in a VIN, modern cars display the VIN on the dash that can be easily read through the windscreen.
If you are seeking information on your Z such as part numbers, date built etc, please provide the VIN.
If you go to a NISSAN Dealer, or any other dealer for parts, they will normally ask for the VIN.
    Why?
Because it means you will get the correct parts for your car.

There are a number of forum members that have access to the NISSAN FAST program.
It would really assist these members to assist you if the VIN is provided.

while the vin can be a usefull tool to finding out what parts are suitable for a car, this can also be a misleading if a car has been modified from its original configuration, which alot have been now.

all you really need to know on our cars is the following.

is it a TT or NA -this should be obvious if you open the bonnet.

is it a manual or auto? again, should be pretty obvious.

is it a 2 seater / 4 seater or convertible?

combine this with what year you need, and this will get you 90% of your parts.

many parts are interchangable through all years, like body panels, mouldings, seals and other commonly replaced items.
