[Vic] Tech Day - 1st Dec 2007

Another awsome tech day i went to today. Heaps of zeds and lots of members to meet and greet. We had a great turnout, with around about 10 - 12 zeds attending the event. Alot of new faces came today, such as Sally & Adam (zxdreamer), Tony (Tonyzx) and Peter (Peter Black) coming to their first ever tech day with the forums. Everyone got a chance to get a conzult down on there cars and everyone had bad O2 sensors . But the most work was done to LegoZed and Sandeep's rides. I helped him remove his AIVs and then the guys got to work replaceing both his o2 sensors and put in a new fuel filter in. While LegoZed had his new big SMICs installed with the help of some knowledgable members chris and Adam.

Pizzas were on the menu for lunch which everyone grabbed up and finished off in no time and everyone got badly sunburnt including myself, and it still stings .

The wether was was fantastic with no clouds in the sky and a hot beaming sun burning us all day.

For me i had a few big problems my auto transmission went crazy ject before i got to ryans place and i lost reverse for a while and my transmission was making a bad grinding sound. I didnt do any work on her today as i was busy meeting and greeting everyone and helping ppl as much as i could. My auto made a really heavy clunk sound on the way home and i think ive now lost 4th gear and reverse, so ill have to take it to a transmission shop asap .

Here is LegoZed's 95 model TT, his plan was to install his big SMIC which he did and had no leaks but he couldnt put his side indicators back on due to no room for the light housing with the new intercoolers in place.

Here is Sally (zxdreamer's) zed, she tried to change here borrowed PTU with a secondhand one but found that one was dead so she had to go back to the borrowed one. UNfortunately she helped Adam with work to Sandeeps car most of the day and we didnt get around to helping here do much work. (ont worry Sally next tech day we do will help you out)

Good to see that Sandeep's car made it back together OK. and Some very interesting reports coming out about those MOFO SMIC's ...

It was good to meet everyone, and my O2 sensors are all good, I was sure they would be dead. Fun day even if I am somewhat fried now.

I'm a bit darker than I was at the start of the day lol... feel sorry for chris and adam egypt, they had nice singlet tans.
Good turn out, thanks to everyone who came. sorry if anyone missed out on getting work done on their cars... but i supplied the beer so you should all be thanking me I think Ben got Conzult on everyone's cars while I was finishing up my car... Not everyone's O2's were screwed, most were just abit slow, you kind of expect it. My new ones are perfect Only a few people had error codes.
Special thanks to Ryan for hosting the day (driving on that field next to your house was fun ), Adam for removing my AIV's, Stu and Nathan for rigging up a fuel pressure guage and replacing my fuel lines and Chris, Adam Egypt and Sally (for letting us use her jack and stands and tools) for getting my old O2s out and my new ones in and also to Peter Black for being the only one with a bottle opener. Car seems to be driving better, will have to fill up and see how many km I get from my tank now.

That gunmetal zed was nice. Even with a stock body it looks awesome because it's dumped with nice wheels. Never realised Pedders suspension lowered it that much.
Hopefully you get your tranny problems sorted Adam, I think Andrew (ex Nissport mech) was a tranny specialist. Ryan's got his Number if you need it.
I got a good photo of Ben's wheels that I'll upload soon, mmm dish. Was good to finally see that Celsior... very cool

My apologise peter, im really sry we didnt get a chance to work on your zed today. But it sounds like your zed had no real problems at all. I promise ill help you remove your aivs next tech day

 

awesome day. it was bloody hot and i loved it, although my skin didn't. looking forward to the next one. i think we should all invest in getting ryan a fully grown tree for his front yard so we can have some shade next time.

Nice write up Adam, looked like a great time! I hope we can organise another one soon, I'm itching to get to another meet...would have been nice to meet the new guys (and girl ) and check out hte rides of course

ey guys i wanted to say thanks for all who came and helped out...it was a good turn out and sorry bout the shade, but even the black man got a tan line too...l\i klook like a zebra or micheal jackson...but seriously was fun meeting all the new people, working on the car and chris did u manage to take legoz back home alright, but yeah the smics sounded good on his car hope everything works out well...anyways ill host another one soonish and hopefully well get some shade happening...cheers

Pitty the way home wasnt as good, blew out my rear tyre on the freeway
Got it home on a motorbike tyre, looked kinda interesting. Amazing blow out though. Ripped around the entire rims. Will have to post a pic.

To fix list - 02 sensors, i think mine were the worst out of everyones and now tyres
