Good to see.......>>

That Ross is getting on top of that car. I remember last year at Sandown he had all sorts of problems and was lapping around the 1.27 mark.

Funny you should say that...

Hung out a couple of weeks ago with Mustang club members (At All Ford Day, Warwick Farm)
Was in a conversation with guys that had Mega$ Shelby 'stangs, consensus was.. would not buy GT40 or AC Cobra because people go... "wow great kit!!) or.. "is that the Toyota Crown kit"http://www.pbase.com/chrisg/allfordsOn the other hand I was at Monterrey Historics at Laguna Seca in 1997 and I am sure there were more "genuine GT40" in the pits than they ever made!

Hey John......>>

It unfortunately isn't genuine, but was built by the owner based on a kit from Melbourne based business "Roaring Fordies" if you join the NDSOC then you will be able to look closely at the cars as a shop tour through "Fordies" is one of the up coming club outings. This place makes what is reported to be the best GT40 replica in the world, and they have the export figures to back it up.

Cool

I was lucky enough to go to the Goodwood Festival last year and was able to mill around 1/2 a dozen of the genuine article :).
If I can, I'll bring my piccies to the NDOC meeting. If you cant wait, look here

What New One's?>>

The Ford GT 40's that are being made today are exact replica's of the GT40's of Racing Fame.
To make them today, permission had to be sort from the FORD MOTOR COMPANY in the USA, who gave the rights to a few private kitcar companies, provided, that they did not change the shape.
If there is a new version, then I certainly haven't seen any, & I recently went to a gathering of them at Wakefield Park Raceway.:s
If you have a photo, could you please post it.
Cheers

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

There most certainly is/will be a new >>>

version. Rumour has it that is actually 44 inches tall instead of 40; and as Ford no longer has the rights to the name "Ford GT40" they were cgoing to call it the Ford GT44. I think they ended up with simply Ford GT.The 2005 Ford GTThe 2005 Ford GT - a different site. The 2002 Ford GT40 concept car[image]http://www.fordvehicles.com/fordgt/images/timeline/GT_p_img_0301.jpg[/image]

Sorry to disillusion you Bro, but>>

Ford are selling GT40's that look almost identical to the original cars, but are taller and have many more "creature comforts" installed. How did you miss that news:?) It was well advertised on television, newspaper and Car Magazines.Cheers

17. KEZA

Seen it in today's paper >>

First one off the line apparently.})
Looks very nice, but its still just a copy of the original, with as Chili put it, creature comforts & upgraded electronics.
And FORD are calling it a FORD GT.:D
Wonder how that'll stand with the Ford GT's of FALCON fame.;)

Any how, I stand corrected, head bowed,:-0 but defiant, that its still not a GT40.:p
