Just a qick thanks to every one who was at the motor show and came and said G'Day. It was a pretty hard slog noting that we were working round the clock all the way up to the show. Some of it my own fault some of it someone elses.
I'll write a bit more later, with some of the behind the scene gossip. Just to let Tony know I left my mark outside Jeff's shed in the black car. The workers stripping down the show loved the smoke and fire spitting show, (as most of the cars are pushed around).
I'm going to have a celebration beer and pass out on the couch. Again, thanks to this club you guys really made the difference. :)

Oh, and if anyone finds a set of Keys for an E-Vade can they please PM me. We had to hot wire the black car.

It was great to see the cars and come and say hello, thanks for having them there for us to see.

    Well done Dave

I just read an article in one of our apprentices mags.
    March issue of "Just Cars".
Had a small but interesting article with photo's, about your beasts.

    Cheers

I like, I like. A nice fluffy burnout really lets the punters know that yes, the E-Vade is truly an Australian invention. It's a pity you couldn't have done a similar demo on the press day . Nice work Dave!

so after all that work making the loom and hating it that much, you have to go and rip it apart to hotwire it, oh well at least you probably knew where everything was.

    :worthless:

I suppose that is one of the benefits of doing it....

... yourself in that you know how to hot wire it.
A quick synopsis of the last couple of days before the show. well Tuesday before the show the track car was taken down for another run on the dyno as the engine started to misbehave and I wanted a dyno sheet as I heard that the press and industry day (Friday) can be quite harsh for crtics.
I thought he misbehaving was due to the temporary program I had in it as the motor was still new. But, it turned out the CAS had wound it self around??? First mistake. Tony turned up while we were trying to sort it. And it spat a bit of fire out at him to let him know that he shouldn't be pecking while she is undressed. More investigation and Tony had to make a move. Got that sorted. and then a problem formed with the Right turbo. BANG. WTF.
Pulled the turbo and the turbine had be impacted with a bit of slag from the manifold. Therefore pulled both manifolds. checked them both LHS clean as a whistle, RHS ?????? filthy I must have missed it (unsure how, but there were a lot of late nights). $hit call Garrett as these are special units. They frieght a turbo core overnight.
Wednesday take the Blue car through the city in the Motor Cavlecade, as a build up for the Motor Show. Great fun, minus the fact that every man and his dog thought that it was okay to come up and try and sit in the car.
Drove the car from home over the Westage to get there, what a hoot. Talk about stares...and it is so much fun to drive. Growlllllllll psssst Growllllllll pssst. Even passed two police cars, not a twinge but they certainly looked. SO there you have it to not get hassled by police you just build a really unusual looking car!
We then dropped it off at the show, our stand was still being constructed next to Ferrari between ford and Holden (to begin with).
Then raced down to the track car in the dyno shop hoping that the tubo had turned up. Yessssss
So went to work fitting it. Then to make it easier to instll the manifold we ground back a weld on the manifold. Whoopps tooo far now we have a hole, off with the manifold again and a quick repair. Ahhhhhh. Work work work.
Car gets back together. everyone has gone home bleed the coolant and oil system. That's a night.
Thursday. Gotta get a dyno run in today. All starts well, after Rob gets the hang of the sequential shift (I can find second???? just pull on the lever again!!! ohhhhh, I need coffee!) The initial set up looking good. Initial maps coming together well. Time to strap her down she is starting to roll up on the dyno, and we are not into the boost yet. Time is ticking away. boost comes on, and I mean comes on!!! Holly mutha f$%&^% it just went mental on the dyno, like it was some chained down wild animal, wheel spin and smoke and... well you get the idea. I practically $hit myself, and I am outside the dyno room (it is too loud to be any where near it with out ear muffs). try again with more straps, also getting what sounds like spark breakdown too....... 4pm last try..... No good will have to wrap it up and take it as it is. Start putting all the body work back on.
Get into the show, around 10-11pm, no car no stand  .
    (ME) Where is my car??
(Staff) We had to more you......there were...... ahhhh..... some issues.
    (ME) Is the car okay??
    (Staff) of course
(ME) Am I still in the build or even the show?
(Staff) Arrr you are over there. (our new position)

What ever, decide to drive the black car in instead of pushing it. Well it works unlike most concepts there. Love that noise, I drive in with my ear muffs on drown out the sound check at the other end, a senior executive at a mass manufacturing stand has to stop practicing his speach. (I get dirty looks from the suits and all the tradies setting up stand and grin). Nothing like an obnoxious entrance.
Get the cars setup and done by about 2pm. Head home sleep for about 2hours get up and come in for the 7am start.

Tony I think you, the Joss Super Car guy and the Bolwell team were the saving grace on the press and industry day. A large majority were opinionate twits, that knew little to F#@$ all about cars, and professed to be industry specialist. If they are industry specialist, it is no wonder car manfucturing in Australia sucks and is going under. And, certainly explains why the Aussie after market industry can make such improvements to mass cars. I think that the Aftermarket guys really make the main stream guys look silly. Enough of a rant. But, no one was interested in my proving the figures about the car. So in an effort to make the day fun, I told one suit after he comment on the "poor styling" on the blue car and "lack of roof", then critising the black car's matt paint,
"it is actually the same stealth radar obsorbing paint used on the F117, being in the Defence Force I have access to it."
Him,"Oh, I see what benefit is that on the track? (sarcastic tone)."
Me, "Well noting the car's expected speed it makes it hard for following cars to estimate speed and distances."
Him, "I am pretty sure that CAMs have made this product illegal." (serious tone)
Me, "Oh dear, I better prep for a repaint after the show."
    Wanker walks off content...........

Show goes through, some pretty excellent things come of it. Will let you know soon some of you where told as I was so excited I had to tell some one (so mum's the word for now ......please  ).
Like I said after the show, lost the keys. did a nice burn out in the track car (fried the body work a little with the exhaust flame) . Took them home one at a time on the trailer, no road excusions this time. Except when I got home, took both for a run around the block. The blue car is definitely my favourite, but you just have the love the buzz the shear brutalness (is there such a word?) of the track car.
That'll about do for now. Enjoy a few photos below, as I know that a thread is uselss without pics. (clicky clik for bigger versions)

Niiice. Have you ever thought about putting a rear diffuser on the back, it would look pretty nice.

I like the black paint its really cool. D

Have a rear diffuser in the shed for the black car

Just ran out of time to install it. Also, I made a decreed that I would not do anything unless it had a purpose. No wings unless needed, same goes fo vents etc. So I am waiting for the track test to see if the wing is not enough. Then I will go about installing it, and yes I have made it out of carbon fibre (it is material of the week)

Soooo, how much is it? Group Buy anyone? :p

Is it a kit, or do you buy it fully assembled ready to go?

As far as the car goes.

We are having a good look at what the level of interest was and in what area. We are considering both aspects at the moment (kit and full production), but won't make a decision in the immediate future.
Main focus at the moment is the testing, and sorting out the issues.
