    maybe tailshaft bearing?

dont hold me to this, but possibly tailshaft bearing?
one of the zeds I looked at a couple months back had the same problem and mechanic diagnosed as a tailshaft bearing.
    hope this helps.

    Get these things checked out.....

    Centre Bearing
    Uni Joints
    Gearbox mount

My car had vibration issues, and it was found to be bad uni joints. However, the zed uni joints are not replaceable so I got a new one piece tail shaft. Vibrations gone. Also, you'd be surprised how a bad wheel alignment can cause vibrations. Get that checked too.

    Cheers

If all else fails try the harmonic balancer see if it's ok.

Doubt that't anything wrong with it, but check all options befor you leap into anything. But if i had a guess it would be the tailshaft bearing. Easy to do yourself if you have a little knowledge.

    Good luck!

have you had a heavy duty clutch installed recently?

I started to have vibration problems when I had the clutch upgraded.

Will be getting under to make sure the centre bearing hasn't gone soon too.

    Check the rear mount.....>>

Hasn't sagged, as this alters the drive shaft angle and can cause vibration.

Don ... you know where to go with it!

And the tailshaft uni-joints ARE replaceable. I had mine done 18months ago along with rear mount & centre bearing. It costs about the same as a one piece tailshaft.

    Cheers, Rob.

    are they really???

I was certain they were one piece with the tailshaft...ie, you had to cut them off??

    Yes, cost me $240.*

Any competent workshop can do it, or send t/shaft into a truck w/shop.

The old uni's are cut off & new Hardy Spicer serviceable uni's are welded back on & t/shaft assembly is then rebalanced.

(* Does not incl. exhaust sys R&R, plus new centre bearing.)

Your engine bay looks awesome Mark

    Cheers
