Hi, I have a quick question, would anyone know what might be wrong. I was driving back from work and I gave the car n bit and as i was getting to around 5.5k to 6k rpm it felt like the rear wheels started to vibrate. I backed down immediately, I tried it again and the same thing happened? I am suspecting it wheel balance. Anyone else with any ideas? Thanks, Juan
A couple things to check first... If it has to do with speed & the rear end, then you'll most likely be feeling the vibration through your seat rather than your steering wheel. If so, i'd check: 1. Check your centre bearing for wear (quite common with standard 2 piece tail shafts to wear out the centre bearing and need replacing due to vibration at certain speeds) if not 2. Get your rear wheels balanced try those first, and go from there.
Vibration Yeah, I am feeling the vibration in the seat. I'll get it checked out, how can you see wear in the center bearing for wear? Thanks, Juan
Me too But I have had new tyres and balance, new centre bearing and tail shaft rebuilt with new universal joints. All the discs have been machined with new brake pads. Good luck! :zlove:
Good call. I had a horrible vibration from my front wheels. I'd forgotten to tighten them once I'd dropped the car back to the ground one time. They were only finger tight and the wheel was vibrating
I've still got vibration issues and i've got: New one piece tailshaft, New wheels + tyres Alignment New g'box mount New (2nd hand) rear subframe + diff I suspect the tailshaft as someone in the know said the place I got mine rebuilt has a habit of rebuilding them incorrectly... PM for more details
