Haha, I wouldn't dream of using silicon! I was actually considering the JB-Weld that arrived the other day though.... Anyway, the barbs I linked to on eBay arrived today.... Yeah, not too good. My fears of the ID through an M5 being too small we're confirmed and the barb advertised as 6mm was actually only good for 4mm, so they'll go in the container of 'stuff' and I'll order some proper 1/8 barbs and a tap.
Just be careful with some loctites and some plastics. The loctite makes some plastics brittle after a while then they crack.
