    Hi everyone,

I was wandering if anyone knew if you could buy a V8 Conversion Kit for a
Z32 to put either a nissan V8 or a Holden V8 in it. I am doing this becasue a new engine will cost $13K from Nissan and i have been unable to find anywhere that can either Reco my existing engine or do a reco exchange.

    Any ideas would help.

    Thanks.

my suggestion is to not talk to Nissan! Depending on what is wrong with your engine, it might be cheaper to get a half cut and drop it in. I'm sure there are plenty of queensland members who can help you out.

    mate..

people rebuild VG30's all the time...... they are still just an engine.....

and I would hazard a guess and say that it will be cheaper to rebuild your current VG30 nissan engine than doing a V8 conversion...

The V8 conversion can be done, there are heaps of pics...... but its done through the desire of having a V8 rather than saving pennies...

    Cheers

speak to amec in qld, or even send the member 'Fleet' a pm who is a rep for amec, he will be able to talk you through the process of rebuilding your current vg and price estimates..

alternativly if you have your heart set on a v8 swap, either an ls1 or the vh series nissan v8's, try www.hybridz.org
they have lost of info and technical data on swapping v8's into z's, including write up's on bell housing mate-ups.
    goodluck

We may be able to help you better if we know where you are. Queensland is a big state and there are some rebuildiers in the South East right up to the Far North.

    Mate...

as everybody else has suggested , get it rebuilt. or buy a good 2nd hand one. Where in QLD are you? Dont go sticking a dirty v8 in there, things are not that desperate yet :D

I will be doing the V8 conversion next year when I finally get a proper shed... VH41/45 is the best bet as they are cheap and don't require firewall mods. Biggest problem is adapting the Z 5 speed & the electronic side of things. I'm allowing 6 months...

i'm also on the v8 bandwagon but my the only real limiting factor is money at the moment, and time.

i have a missus, lack of money and time  lol :p

nah i have an NA, way to rub salt into an open wound dude  j/k.

i could easily get a TT engine and build it up into a monster for a similar price, but i can't go past a nice angry v8

The V8 has something silly like 80% of the torque of the VG30DETT at just above idle
