using hydraulic hose for water hoses and compression fittings instead of

    clamps?

I really really hate working with hose clamps and was wondering if it is possible to get compression fittings onto the metal water / oil pipes in the engine bay? I plan on using hydraulic hose which is resistant to virtually everything by the looks of it and this particular type has a burst pressure of 20,000psi.

It would also be about 100 times easier to replace / remove hoses using compression fittings so all you need is 2 spanners and it is off instead of stuffing around with hose clamps and then trying to pry old hose off the pipes.

I was wondering if the standard metal tubing is strong enough to cope with the compression fitting though? I know there is metal hose about the same diameter on machines which use this fitting but I am not sure if that metal is a lot stronger as it is hard to tell by just looking and bending it.

    Thanks
