Hey everyone im writing on behalf of my sis, she has a 90 tt zx her x bf did a few mods and when i asked her how much boost it had she said 19 im like shit stock turbos yuck any way the night they broke up he gave it a hiding and it now only seems to boost to 11psi do u think it could b a turbo?? it dosnt have saftey boost solioids so ive ruled that out comp tes came out round 145 each im pulling my hair out haha
Do a boost leak test, unlikely that it would be a turbo failed with no other signs like smoke, noises etc.
thanks il try that ive noticed oil in both cooler pipes it has a catch can so not pcv's done a few dyno runs with me head in the bay left turbo seems to whine on boost.
My money is on a boost leak too... 19psi and thrashing it around, hose might have split, popped off etc... You'll have to start here tho... Find that leak test kit!
hahaha this car is doing my head in ive had everything off manifold all cooler piping evrythn bout half a dozen times its doing my noggn in haha both turbos were average as oil was coming out the bov's i since cleand it all out lil out the right side nothing out the left. replaced nearly all the hosesa so confused
with 19 psi, it could easily have popped a hose of somewhere or something similar, your going to have to do a boost test to figure it out......

yes it was car was good till sis x floged it it was tuned spot on i tuned it for 17 he put it to 19 engine mechanicly is fine
Are the turbos mechanically fine? Check for play. Boost leak. Did you smash your sisters X for thrashing it? Did you walk into a wall or something because 19PSI on stock turbos you are crazy.. :bash:
for starters i had it on 17 an secondly garret told me there good for 14psi each and yes we have givn him a hiding but 17 was my limit. the engine is still in the car so havnt checked for play. when it comes on boost it whines from the lh turbo.
If you didnt have your zed you would be 10 times richer? if you didn't over boost it you wouldn't have stuffed turbos. [TIS]
