After everything has been done now I am stuck and not sure what did wrong?
Clutch fork is sitting in middle. It supposed to push the rod back all the way in slave cylinder. Any idea what happened. Pressure plate should push the bearing far enough, but it is not. See picture below...

Do I need to adjust clutch? Photo has been taken when the clutch pedal isn't pushed.

judging by the pic, your slave cyl is rooted, dust boot split has probably aloowed water to get in and rust it. look at the colour of the shit coming out

or at the least you will need to bleed it.when the clutch is pressed down the rod should move out a decent distance, the fork will move right over to the left in that picture

If you take the slave off is the fork freely moving?

There can be issues with dual plate clutch installs where the rod isnt the right length anymore.

You did put the thrust bearing carrier in correctly? Was the finished height with the new thrust bearing in thge carrier the same as the old one? This sort of thing happens when the pivot ball isnt engaged properly behind the spring fingers or the fork is bent.

It sure isnt going to work like it is.

If I push the fork lever towards slave cylinder it moves , but can't move the fork any further than what is now. If I use my pedal then I can move further but not enough to engage gear. Bearing was installed exactly same as old one. But it seems pressure plate is sitting lot closer to flywheel than my old clutch. I had twin plate which is thicker than this one. New clutch is southbend single plate. I can't believe I have to take everything off again.

A lot of dual plate clutch bearing carriers are special and are shorter than stock to accomodate the extra length of the 2 clutch packs.

I am betting the carrier isnt a stock one ( cause you used to have a dual plate clutch) and you would have needed to change it over to the longer stock one to use the single plate clutch.

    bloody shame mate.

We have all made dumb mistakes. Like me putting a clutch plate in backwards. Dont sweat it.

It'll be great when its fixed !!

Chili's got a .45 available in his clutch fluid thread. :)

Reminds me I have to get a thrust bearing and carrier for my dual plate clutch.

The pic in your throw out bearing thread is of a stock throw out carrier. If this is the one you fitted it is correct. You need to adjust the clutch pedal free travel.

Hows that gonna help Eric? IF the thrust bearing is sitting on the pressure plate fingers and the fork end is where it is now. No amount of pedal adjustment is gonna fix that.

The fork end should be 10mm at least further toward to the slave than it is in the pic when its sitting on the fingers.

Wonder if the fork is bent?

(and yes you are right Eric I had a look at the pic in the other thread and it is a stock carrier)

Found the stock carrier and it is definately longer and bigger than what I have in the car. No wonder why it sits in the middle. I need to take out the bearing again from os giken carrier. Does anyone know If I will be able to source same bearing locally? Just in case I may damage my new bearing when taking out.

You wont have any issue getting another, They are about $20-30 from the bearing shop.
