guys what do you think i should do? it is leaking from both sides of that metal clamp thing.. is that clamp an actual standard on a 300zx or is that a dodgy fix job that has been done?

    thanks alot
    Alex

Can I just flush out PSF? If so, how

    Took photos today.
Mine doen not even have any clamps or clips.
Yours seems to be in a better shape than mine.

Thats a pretty complex hose. I believe it goes from the P/S pump,

with a banjo fitting and steel pipe to that "clamp" which is actually where the pipe is crimped to the flexible hose. The other end should have another short pipe crimped on which does a "U" turn and screws inro the pipework on the steer rack.I'm just doing this from memory, I could check when I get home. If that hose/fittings is knackered the two options would be a new OEM replacement or get Enzed or Pirtek to moify/remake a suitable hose (can be done, just have to be a little creative)

Heres what I've done before. Go to Enzed/Pirtek with the hose

Ask them to supply two 6 JIC plugs, drilled to suit the diameter of the steel pipes. Cut off the steel pipes and silver solder the drilled fittings to the pipes. Then supply a 6 JIC hose the right length to make the whole unit the same length as original. The hose then becomes a three piece unit, making it easier to install, and if the hose ever blew again just a few minute job to replace. Ive done this many times (but without NZ or Pirtek)at work mainly on Fords.

Hi, Mark. Any update on this leaking power steering issue

I will get my new Koyo radiator next week and hope to fix my leaking power steering hose as well at the same time.
Has anyone bought the PS hose made by ENZED?
    Any tips will be appreciated.

to fix my leaking power steering hose

which had a hole on the top part of the hose above the clamp they charged me $120 at enzed. but they replaced that part of the hose completely.. to get both done you might be looking around the $240 mark. try and see if you can buy a 2nd hand one instead

Sorry guys, this one slipped thru the cracks

Replaced Alex's ps hose and subsequently mine later - both supplied from Cresta.

You need a 23mm socket for the top connection and for the bottom connection a vice grip or a open ended spanner designed for brake lines.

Mark, why don't you add this replacement of ps hose to your service list.

Because the leaking ps hose may be another common problem with our zed and hope you will provide replacement service as well for our fellow zeds.
