    Hi Guys,

Recently purchased this car as a second zed/car for the gf but she doesn't like driving the manual zed and is buying a bike to ride to uni/work.

As the title suggests, it's a J-Spec NA Manual 2 seater in Black.

    The GOOD:

    Beautiful paint, No scratches/Dents
Brazilian with genuine Infill Panel/3rd brakelight
19" Rims in excellent condition with almost new tyres (235/35/19 all round)
Full leather interior retrim, REAL leather no cheap crap
Has Heavy Duty clutch in excellent condition, very tight
5speed box is smooth and strong
    Short shifter
Blitz exhaust with stainless mufflers, looks good and sounds tough
Engine is strong and pulls hard
    TT front brakes
    All electrics work
Engine all stock no mods, stock airbox etc
Comes with some aftermarker rear shockers with lowered springs (sitting in the boot atm)

    The BAD:

Needs to pass a VIV before being registered (needs an old chassis weld redone)
Engine has a noisy lifter, have not even serviced it yet will do so this weekend

Am looking for $4000 slightly negotiable. -$500 if you don't want the wheels. This is a lot of car for the money, If I don't get this I will be parting the car out and easily make more than that.

    PICS:

Dissapointed that it's an '89, because if you DID part it out I would have called first dibs on those door trims!

Yes sir. The s2 seatbelts are pillar mounted inside the vehicle.

If anyone wants a bit of info about VIV's feel free to ask.

However, in my professional opinion, unless you're a panel beater or have a bit of money to splurge, I tend to avoid write offs.

the thing is, it doesn't require any panel work. It is not smashed like most write offs, it just has written off status because when going over the pits vicroads found an old weld that needs redoing before it can pass. In every other case, yes a write off is a hassle, but this car is perfectly straight, beautiful exterior and interior and drives great. If I could justify having two zeds for myself I would keep it.

Why not fix the weld if it's such an easy fix and sell it for more?

    Edit: pics of repaired area?

Haha, if I had the time to go through all the work needed to get things perfect/make more money I wouldn't have 2 more cars and 3 more bikes in needs of countless hours of attention :p

I could, but then I'd be tempted to keep it, and the missus is getting a bike for commuting so it's really money I can't justify to spend just to have another nice car in the driveway :p

If I wanted to "make more" I"d take a few days leave off work and part the car out :)

Why would it need to go 'over the pits' at vicroads? If a car needs to be re-registered they simply check the VIN, maybe the engine number and want a RWC.

Aside from that, even the slightest deformation in the chassis will deem the car non register-able. The slightest bend, deformation, something out of place etc and they'll pick you up on it and make you get it sorted. Plus whenever you plan to sell the car in future, you must declare that it had a VIV check performed on it, which tends to reduce it's value.

But, I haven't seen the car or know the full situation so I'm unable to make a proper judgment, like I said, it is only my opinion about VIV check cars. Best of luck either way with your sale.

This weekend when I get time.

And tatty, if you are reregistering a vehicle that has been unreg for over 3 months, they will randomly do a full inspection is my understanding i.e not everytime

So I changed the oil and filter, the noise went away for 15 minutes before coming back again (dislodged sludge probably reblocked something) so it's definately an oil problem, pressure/blockage, not damaged lifters I will continue to work on it until the cars sold, have alot of people interested as the car is on firesport too.

UPDATE: VIV IS NOT REQUIRED FOR CARS OVER 15 YEARS OLD you can read it on the vicroads website yourself/call them if you like.

If anyone is interested the car is still for sale at the advertised price, probs only for another week or so.
