Uniden UHF UH015SX In Car Citizens band radio ENDS NOV 14TH

Hi Folks

In line with our cruise "recommended requirements", I'd like to offer/suggest this item for all cruise attendees Australia wide.
Are you ever one of those people on cruises without a hand-held UHF?
Even better are you one of those people with a UHF hand-held, but find they have a 100 meter effective range in the car (which is bloody useless), and on top of that, the volume of the units are so low, that you can't hear the conversations over your exhaust.
Doubly forget it if you have your targas off.

Consider this purchase an additional safety device to any cruise you attend, and it also has the added bonus of scanning all frequencies above 400MHz (listen in on any analogue conversation outside of the normal CB band).
Outside of cruises, on channel 40 (the Truckie channel), you will find all your traffic reports as well as radars (Flash for cash). Truckies are a handy bunch

This unit has a detachable face so the unit can be mounted anywhere and the head (which is quite small) can be mounted much more conveniently.

Participation level required 4+ units
The costs $305 inc GST for the unit.
The cost includes an antenna (although the rubber duckie is a better option, but you get the metal antenna for free anyway).
$18 for the rubber duckie antenna (both antennas include cable back to the radio).

Of course, you can organise your own antenna solutions if you prefer

I am happy to supply any interstate members, a $12.50 freight cost will apply in addition to the above costs for metropolitan areas. If you are in country areas, I'll let you know any extra if required.

Mine will be going in the panel that separates the targas and the rear hatch.
Requires drilling a small hole to pass through the antenna wire (Maybe 12mm)
Rob says he will have a better solution perhaps. He will discuss at the cruise.

Centre of the roof is absolute optimum
It will work in other locations, but not as well.
I don't know how you will go about putting it in the stock antenna location, it might require a home made, custom mount

K-Zed suggested removing the squirter from the rear hatch glass and installing it there.

The base does not need to be grounded.

The antenna is a promotion to help sales against GME.

The steel antenna transmits in a 90 degree angle to the antenna so if the antenna leans back at an angle, then transmit power is wasted either into the air or into the ground.
The rubber duckie is not directional.

You can mount them on your roof, as well your bonnet, you can buy pieces that fit under the bonnet, like a "S" bracket.

Im sure if you dont feel like mounting it , just get like a u-bracket thingie and tie it onto the middle of the targa top . lol :vomit:
