    DEAR GOD PEOPLE!
Realise it's going off on a tangent, but so is this forum. Threads are turning from something that used to be informative to people BOTH taking and making things personal. The behaviour is something that I would expect to see from a Skyline Owner (apologies R31 Gagz... or whatever model it is).
Chili- You're no doubt older and wiser to lower yourself to this. Personal or not, previous reads have shown that you rarely, if EVER take anything personally.... something that I have silently admired about you.
Chrispy- Even though you drink girly drinks and like to dress in feminine attire, you knowledge and ingenuity with your own car never cease to amaze me.

Why the hell is it that whenever there is a difference of opinion, it recently seems to lower itself into a "Qld vs any other state" thing?

I don't know much about these cars, but, had it not been for this forum, namely the people on it, the 7 years that which I have owned a 300ZX would have been dramatically shorter. The assistance and camaradie that once existed seems to be quickly spiralling into constant childish bickering, where it is rare to find anything usefull amongst the personal attacks. One would have hoped that all of this crap finished with the sigh of relief upon Icer's departure.

FFS- my d$%k is smaller and cuter than all of yours, so if it means acting the smaller man to be the bigger, then so do it.

Thank you for your post and your advice, both are accepted in good faith.

Although I have some serious misgivings about my following comment, I feel it needs to be said.

During my 9 year tenure on this forum(something that is a milestone for me, and was largely due to the camaraderie of which you speak)I have gained from the experience.
As a result I have endeavored to contribute whenever and in whatever way as was deemed appropriate at the time.
Along with many of my fellow members, I have always been at the head of the line when someone was in need of genuine assistance(this has happened on several occasions that come to mind). I have never required(nor have I sought)any sort of recognition or kudos for such, and I am not doing so at this juncture.
In recent times I have been in receipt of several highly insulting or offensive PM's and or posts(and on at least three instances, publicly expressed disrespect from members whom I had previously helped).
All of this has no doubt contributed to my being less inclined to turn the other cheek, where once I would have laughed it off.
That the majority of these insults have emanated from QLD, leads to my comments in that regard probably being biased.
I will attempt to do better.:zlove:[TIS]

    Chrispy Pretentious Upstart

Well I don't really talk to people I don't like. If you can't say anything nice...

Pretentious upstart? Maybe a little  Any other forum on the net you would have been permanently banned years ago for abusing other members, flame wars and just generally not playing nice. You fly off the handle at the smallest things and resort to personal attacks when it takes your fancy (as shown above). You have added little to the forum in recent years (unlike in the so called 'Golden Age'), I don't recall the last time I saw you run off to help with a plenum pull, or do a 100K service for a noob or pull a motor, so if you wish to label me as pretentious I think that is more than a little hypocritical.

Yes, of course, your experience with the unichip is all good and dandy, but the rest of the stuff you are crapping on about has been off tangent or incorrect.

You'll have to excuse me, I have to put on a party frock, crack open a grapefruit cruiser and weld my exhaust together. It's all part of the greatness that is living in SE QLD.

You have no frigging idea what I may have done for other forum members, because unlike yourself, I don't brag about it in an attempt to gather brownie points.

Party frock? Grapefruit Cruiser? Welding exhaust(is that what they call it in SE QLD)?
All your best work is accomplished from behind apparently(with whatever tool you happen to have at hand).
You have no gonads Chrispy, just a lousy disposition(you had no problem sharing a few drinks with my wife and I at Cowra. Were you wearing your other face on that occasion?).

ok apologies to vadim on behalf of everyone and myself for this thread taking off this way. its meant to be about unichip like you asked.

going back to your first post on this thread though...
, did you notice a marginal increase of fuel economy when ur just cruising along? obviously the power was better at w.o.t. and increased fuel consumption too. im asking about the other 99% of time?

As previously stated, I did not notice any improvement in fuel economy(but with Sydney's constant stop-start traffic and frequently fluctuating petrol prices, economy is difficult to assess in real terms).
Using less fuel does not necessarily result in economic benefit to the owner, which IS the only real test of improved economy IMHO.

Throttle response, smoother idling, overall driveability and a measurable increase in power output were the main benefits(although these things are subjective and can mean different things to different people).

OK, as another unichip owner here is the deal (Owned for 5 years and current owner)
The Z32 has O2 sensors, and it has an ECU with a factory tune that can be improved on substantially.
When you are at cruise on a dead flat piece of road, you'll notice little difference in economy between a standard ECU and any tuned ECU or piggyback unit including the Unichip. This is because the 02's keep the mixture at/near stoichiometric. Not many roads are dead flat though, with the exception of a trip across the Nullarbor Plain perhaps???. If your tuner has done a good job, on the "Average" country drive, you'll pick up between 5 and 10% economy. Of a dead flat piece of road, you'll get bugger all, as the fuel delivery is adjusted by the O2 sensors.
Some gains may be had thought timing advance, but it's negligible.

Since vadim's question has been answered (many times in fact) topic closed ;)

Now, go have a look in the tech section at the fuel economy claims for the Z32 by Nissan, and then see what I,Angrybear, 90TTZ and a few others are achieving.
