Unichip advice

My car was tuned with the following setup:

Unichip, boost controller @ 12psi, UDP, Apexi pod, Apexi fuel regulator, light flywheel, UAS 2.5" exhaust, PWR 40mm radiator, one piece tailshaft, stock internals.

It is as smooth as silk, lots of low down torque, did 9.2 litres per 100kmh on a spirited drive Brisbane - Sydney, and dyno'ed (is that a word?) at 238rwkw when last tuned.

I have larger SMICS and tuneagent dumps still to add, and I am still thinking about putting on the UAS combined X pipe/resonator sitting on the shelf.

Anyway, the question is this: Once I get those last bits on, should it be retuned?

Not absolutely necessary Barry, but would be a good idea if that is the last of your mods for a while.:zlove:

    Thanks Lloyd

I am absolutely delighted with how it goes, and accidental wheelspin in 2nd gear is a new experience for me.

So once those last couple of bits are on I can't see me doing anything further on the performance side, unless the engine breaks at some point. I don't expect it to under my elder statesman driving style.

    That's great Bary!

very good power for the mods indeed! :zlove:
I would however give it another tune, particularly when you add the bigger I/C's + dumps. cooler air = more boost that you can run, and dumps = higher flow.
while you're doing the dumps, i'd also whack in the x pipe and have it all done then take it for a final dyno tune. you'll be able to safely run 16+ psi easily with the upgraded I/C's and you'd prob be getting into the 250+kw club

But that is just what i'd be doing.

Yes, it goes very well indeed. (The car also has hi flow cats - I left them out of the list).

The exhaust note is really nice, and not too loud, but there is a bit of a drone at 2000 rpm on the open road that I thought the UAS piece might cure. Karl took me for a run in 90TTZ at Cowra and his UAS x-pipe/resonator did dampen but not eliminate the drone he had in that fine machine.

Maybe I'll whack it all on as you say and get it retuned at say 14psi. The 16psi you mention seems a lot for the stock injectors, but I am no expert on these things. 250rkwk sounds nice, but I'll need a bit more practice/experience at 238rwkw first.

    Zeds rule! :zlove: :zlove:

    Sounds fair mate.

*just a side note, your injectors will still be fine on your stock turbos to 17-18psi. But like you say, you can still get say 16psi safely and it won't be as highly strung - which is probably a good thing for your car ;)
