under dash question

    can someone please tell me what the big bulky looking things are behind glovebox under dash? one is a big cylinder shape. maybe air con related?

    Thats the blower for the climate control system.

    Can it be removed permanently? I have no air con or heater components left in my car except that

    It can, if you don't mind being Defected for not having any Demisting system fitted to your car(a very definite Roadworthy requirement).

    To counter that point of view

    You would have to be really unlucky to find a police officer or government officer slim and/or smart enough to even look, what's more to even see it was missing would require effort and if they take it apart or break it they are responsible for repair/reassembly/replacement so I would imagine most wouldn't bother

    Wouldn't be hard for them to ask you to turn it on to de fog your window if you were pulled over for something else =]

    Also, if you ever get pulled over and defected for something else which required and they decide to send you for a full inspection(blue slip). who ever you take the car to, will check stuff like that.

    But I don't see the point of removing the heater box and blower, they really are not that heavy at all, I would say less then 3-4kg's combined.

    I had a mate defected for not having a connected heater.
